Color Inspiration #50

First of all~
A great BIG congratulations to Kristina Werner on her 50th Color Challenge!

WOW, quite an accomplishment! Thank you so much for all of your creative inspiration, your fabulous tutorials and of course, these color challenges. You have pushed me out of my "pastel box" into a world of color.
I had to get my card posted for this challenge before it hits the 1000 entry mark!
Kristina was very specific about using just these 5 colors. Sooooo, here it is brocken down by color:
Brown - Two of the butterflies punched from "Candy Corn" card stock from American Crafts; inked the daisy stamp (by artist, Lisa Hindsley) with Stampabilities "Chocolate Brown" and the computer printed words are in Brown ink from my Epson color photo printer; the brown and turquoise dotted ribbon is from "Scrapbooking Printed Ribbon" from Target.
Yellow - the cardstock banner under the 3 squares on top of the card, the bling on each butterfly and used yellow Stickles on the centers of the daisies
Turquoise - The 3 squares and the oval frame are cut from my DCWV "Citrus Stack"(a bunch of the sheets have GLITTER on 'em~so pretty).
Red - Had a bit of trouble adding this color but, found the right card stock for one of the butterflies in my DCWV Mat Stack- it's also embossed with Swiss Dot.
White - card stock from 'The Paper Company' is my base card.
Other supplies used include 1 1/4" square punch from Paper Shapers, oval scallop punch from Marvy, butterfly punch is Martha Stewart's and the corner rounder punch is EK Success.
Thank you so much for looking ~ I really really appreciate your comments ~ have a great day!

Caardvarks - Trees a Crowd Challenge

I made this card for the Caardvarks Trees a Crowd Challenge. The sponsor this week is Taylored Expressions and they're giving away their new set called Branching Out, which I just love. I realized I didn't have a tree stamp... so I improvised a tad. The leaves (stamped three times) on my "tree" are from Big Lots $2.00 wood stamp bin, Stickles "Lime Green" glitter adds a little life to the leaves and the koala bear hanging off the tree branch is from See D's "Safari" clear stamp set.
Heart corner punch is EK Success. The ribbon and print paper and card stock are from AC Moore and the orchid mat is embossed with Cuttlebug's "Stylized Flowers". Really hope this qualifies for this great challenge ~ it was a fun card to create :^)
As always, thanks for stopping by, I so appreciate and enjoy reading your comments.

Cuttlebug Challenge Taxes and Numbers

Happy Friday to everyone!
Cuttlebug's challenge this week motivated me to make a few birthday cards for my nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
I think this is a fun card to duplicate changing the child's name and age plus using different pattern papers. Although I may need a bigger cupcake for the 8 year old 'cause it only has one candle and I cut out the other 3 to add on top for the youngest grandson, Jack :o)

My card: All card stock is from my stash of 12x12 sheets bought at AC Moore. The cupcake is cut out and outlined with glitter gel pens - it's a Dollar Tree stamp(!). The Frame around "Happy Birthday" is a stamp from Fiscars "Wedding" Clear Stamp set. I cut out the number 4 freehand and embossed it with Cuttlebug folder "Floral Fantasy. The candles that I cut out of colored papers have Stickles glitter as the flame and on the stripes going down each one, I cut the (very thin) Party Streamers from colored papers and taped them to the back before adhering the cupcake to the card with a pop up dot. Hope you like what I came up with ~

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #3

This is Dawn McVey's new color challenge. These colors are yummy ~ she never disappoints us.
I totally agree with Dawn~you should take your camera to Fabric Stores? Sewing is one of my favorite pastimes, and spending 2-3 hours looking at fabric is not unusual...then again that's about the same time spent in crafts stores! It's no wonder I find myself asking "Where has the day gone?" a lot!
Okay! This 5-color wasn't as hard as I thought it may be...only stared at all the papers for a couple of hours yesterday :^) Found some print paper in my stash with pretty much all five colors and cut the butterflies from it with Martha Stewart's punch they are sitting on pink card stock. The kraft card stock is my base as well as the top oval Marvy punch with sentiment, vanilla card stock is oval punch underneath. Berry damask print is the background mat from Pressed Petals Venetian Mat Stack. The red geranium has a red & kraft color hemp through it. Hope you have a good evening. Thank you so much for stopping by.

My Card: Bee & Best Wishes stamps are from "Patterned Bugs"& "Garden Flowers" from Brenda Walton at Inkadinkado and the "Apple Blossom Border" is from Comotion Stamps; Card stock is from"American Crafts"; the Aqua mat is embossed with Cuttlebug's "Textile" folder; Stickles glitter on flowers and bees and jewels from "Studio 18" (I think?), also used "StarLightz" glitter gel pens to outline stamps. 3-D bee stuck on with mini PopDots from All Night Media.
