Papertrey Ink - Day #7 (card #3)

Edited to reflect new photo which was taken outside in the daylight...I was messing around with my camera and hit a few too many buttons with the first photo taken last night...I am a work in progress these days!

Oh, I really need to re-take this photo~the colors are so NOT this dull! I will try to make it better, but in the meantime...this is card #3 tonight for PTI-Day 7 Anniversary incorporating hearts in your project :)

My Card~

Cardstock: Base card is Bright White
Stamps: Sentiment and Flourishes from PTI's Fall Elegance; Polka Dots are from Clear Pattern Stamps by Martha Stewart; the flower patterned heart is from Michael's
Ink: Black from Ranger; Pearlescent Orchid from Tsukneko
Tools: Large corner rounder from EKSuccess

Papertrey Ink - Day #7 (card #2)

This is the second card created which incorporates hearts into the design.
Go check the awesome new products being introduced this month:

http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/

(sorry, I don't know how to "link" sites yet!)

This card is for my sweet friend, who is always 'there' for me!

Card details~ no stamps used here
Cardstock: the base card is heavy weight PTI; patterned paper is from K*1 Memories that I found at Tuesday Morning
Tools & Embellishments: small corner rounder by EKSucess; 'Branches w/Leaves' is from Sissix ; Best Friends is a sticker from Marcella By K; the glittery, heart is from the Dollar Store

BTW, those of you who know me, know that I do not read instructions, I am a 'try it first, then read' kinda gal!
I bought a couple of these Sissix A6 embossing folders and just
assumed, I could use them in the Cuttlebug cause that's all I own. Well, I found these folders to be much thicker, therefore more difficult to run through the machine, but I really liked the deep embossing effect (if I use good quality heavy weight cardstock like PTI's). OK, so as I am reading the back for the first time to see the name of this folder to add to my post here and it says "compatible with..." and lists several machines, however, Cuttlebug is not among them. Oh brother!
Anyone out there know if I am going to break my CB by continuing to use these folders???

Papertrey Ink - Day #7

This is day seven of the celebrations and festivities at Papertrey Ink:
http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/
Today's contest is to create a project
that incorporates hearts into the design.
I wanted to post this card which I made for a friend who needed a Wedding card last month ~ it has a heart embossed panel and was made with LOVE :o)

My Card:

Cardstock: Green base card is SU, PP is a note card from Michaels, top embossed green is a large paint chip from Lowes and the image is stamped on heavy weight white from PTI because I wanted to use watercolors on the bears and needed the best cardstock available.

Stamps: the hearts are from "Wedding" clear stamps by Fiskars; the bears are from a set of wood stamps I picked up at AC Moore, but don't have the original box so don't remember who made these :(

Tools and Embellishments: large and small corner rounders by EKSuccess; Hearts embossing folder by Cuttlebug; "Just Married" ribbon by Martha Stewart; white ribbon 'veil' and bouquet of flowers from my stash

Thanks for looking!

MFW-TT Fancy Schmancy and Papertrey Ink - Day 5 (card #2)

I am entering this card in two challenges today.

PTI' Day 5 Celebration:
http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/

Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger:
http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/01/tuesday-trigger-fancy-schmancy.html

I took another photo in daylight, although it is cloudy today (hoping for rain) I think you can see the pretty pink card base and the the brown mat under the pink and white striped paper like the cupcake liners and the mocha twine tying the key are a little closer match to the inspiration photo :)

NOTE: I do have a fabulous camera with all the gizmos and lenses of a "Professional" photographer which my DH gave me as a B-Day gift a couple of years ago. Unfortunately, I always relied on this sweet man to read the manual and learn to use, adjust the settings on all the techy stuff in the house and then
asked him "to just show me what to do".
I have the manual on my craft desk, so hopefully my next photo will be better :o?

I stamped the key on PTI white heavy weight cardstock and the heart is a chipboard I made (from one of the MIM challenge last year) with a scrap piece of Raspberry Fizz Mix Paper Collection from PTI. The glittery ribbon and the key stamp are both from Michael's

Papertrey Ink - Day 5

edited photo to portrait instead of landscape ~ like it better this way :)

Today is Day 5 of Papertrey Ink's Anniversary Celebration.
http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/

The contest is to pick one of the team members Pinterest inspiration photos or select your own piece of Pinterest eye candy to use as a jump-start for your very own creation. WOW! There is so much inspiration from the DT in this arena AND you can hit the Pinterest site for waaaaay more :)

Well this turned out different than I had pictured, isn't that always the way?
I chose the colors, butterflies and flourish in the Pinterest photo of a Bookholder for the car. I had the card 'portrait', but photographed it 'landscape', I am sure I will send it out facing portrait and it will be a B-Day card...maybe I need a do-over here :o?

My Card~
Cardstock: heavyweight white card base is PTI and embossed with a woodgrain (look closely to see it peeking out from under :)
Lime Green and Grey are from Recollections
Stamps: Fancy Flourish from PTI; that large fern stamped in
both Chartreuse and Shadow Grey inks is Martha Stewart; the trio of butterflies is an old wood stamp with no name :(
I cut out the largest butterfly and popped it over the original cause you couldn't really see it with the fern showing through.

Thanks for stopping by~

Papertry Ink - Day #4

So at Papertrey Ink's Day 4 celebration contest, we are to create a project inspired by one of the team's favorite color combos from a free download of combinations.
http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2012/01/5th-anniversary-day-4-cafe-press-new-pattern-packs-color.html
I went with Danielle Flanders. Besides really loving the combo it matched up with Melissa Bickford's LOVE image free download from yesterday~ YAY! All I had to add was the Pure Poppy red which I added in back of the L-O-V-E using my 'Stamp' die from Cuttlebug. Now let me tell ya, those letters looked straight when I popped them on their backgrounds with Pop Dots, but in the photo~not so much :o)
The blingy exclamation point is from Sudio G, Corner Rounder from EK Success and White base cards stock is PTI.
I hope to get a couple more cards done for this fun challenge -?- we'll see
