SAF 2013 -The End

Stamp -a -faire 2013
THE END

Well I didn't think my craft room could get any messier than Saturday evening...but, I was wrong!
This is what it looked like at midnight Sunday :)

Important note:
I had the best time creating lots of cards that will be sent in the coming months.
Thank you, Nicole and Design Team ~ you all are such a creative force of inspiration!!

SAF 2013 - Custom Accents

Stamp-a-faire
Custom Accents From The Oven

This is my last and final post to Stamp-a-faire 2013
I posted to each of the challenges~Yay me! It was fun learning some new or seldom used techniques and I hope everyone had a good time yesterday and in some cases today,  if I'm not all alone out here ;-)

This challenge is  bringing polyshrink (or shrink plastic)back, having the option to shrink your favorite die-cut shape.  Well, I don't have any large (enough) dies, so my Custom Accents are teeny tiny shrunken butterflies which I managed to color with yellow ink and add some glitter to. I suppose they would have made cute earrings, if I remembered to punch a hole in them before baking ~ oh well.

SAF 2013 - Rolled Dough

Stamp-a-faire
Rolled Dough Designs Challenge

This is my attempt at designing  a card with Rolled Dough which is die cut into clouds.  I loved Heather's pretty card and how she mixed in glitter to the Paper clay, but my glitter is very chunky (ran out of the fine white stuff) and I ended up adding it after so it would really show up ~ love my glitter :)

SAF 2013 - Tea Staining

Stamp-a-faire
Tea Staining Technique

I used black Lipton tea bags and stained some cotton (muslin?) overnight.  It came out a pretty antique color. My flower is made from a strip of the dyed cloth and the button is covering all the fraying, which just adds to the 'old' look :)

SAF - Mixing Mists

Stamp-a-faire 2013
Mixing Mists to Match

This challenge is to make your own custom spray mist and then create a project using it.

I used drops of  'Pretty Pink' re-inker mixed with alcohol and created a pale dusty rose color to spray over my embossed flourishes.

Whipping Up Scent-sational Cards

I made my Scented Embossing powder with Pumpkin Pie Spice and Clear Embossing Powder. If you look closely at the pumpkin, you can see the spice is a little darker color ~ it really smells good too :-)

Cardstock:  Stamper's Select White
Stamps:  Fall Elegance*

*I didn't use the pumpkins from this set, because I wanted a larger image as my focal point, but it was a wood block stamp and I over-stamped on the embossing technique part :(
And that's why I love my clear stamps!

SAF 2013 ~ Sugar Coated Embellishments

Stamp-a-faire
Sweet Sugar Coated Embellishments

I watched all the videos and decided that I liked Dawn McVey's the best for this sugar coating technique.
I thought it was the least messy.
HA! like that really matters at this point on my craft desk!

PTI Blog Hop

Papertrey Ink ~ August Blog Hop
This note is from Nicole's Blog regarding today's Challenge:

"With Stamp-a-faire day finishing up late last night, there couldn't be a more appropriate theme for the August Blog Hop than FOOD!  I think we all may be a wee bit worn-out, so I'm thinking something FAST will be a benefit as well!  Hence our Fast Food Color & Sketch Inspiration Challenge!  Just pick a color + sketch combo that appeal to you and create!"

Here is the color & sketch I chose for my card ~ pretty yummy, huh?

Sorry, I just couldn't leave that circle space all clean n' simple , had to add a 3-D butterfly :)

Closing Ceremony

This is what my craft room looks like at 11:00 PM (more normal, for me).  I haven't got the energy to clear a spot on my desk to continue with my projects...tomorrow will be here soon enough :-)

Today was totally awesome!  Thank you Nicole and Design Team for all your hard work in putting this event together again this year.  What an amazing group of talented ladies you all are!  I have learned so many new and exciting techniques today that I will definitely continue to use.

Good night to everyone, hope you get some rest, I know I'm ready for some ZZZzzzzzzzz  ;-)

SAF 2013 Recipe Remix

Edited to add:

This card was originally posted in the PTI June Blog Hop and  is in desperate need of a Recipe Remix!  I have not given it to anyone because it just needs "something else". Although I tried for a CAS design, I am not very happy with it 'as is'.
Would truly love to see what one of the Design Team could do with this.  Thank you so much for your constant inspiration!

MIM #129

Here's another card for Make It Monday's Challenge ~
White Crayon Resist

The cupcakes' frosting is white crayon and I used water color paint behind it, thinking it would be better than the ink sponging ...it is a little bit, I think.   I stamped the Hero Arts cupcakes on white cardstock as well as on blue and green cardstock so that I could fussy cut the 'papers' and glue them on top for dimension. The Happy Birthday embossing folder is from Cuttlebug.

I am also entering this card in A Passion For Papertrey ~ Something Sweet.  Check out the "treats" HERE    ;-)

MIM #129

This week's challenge at Make It Monday is White Crayon Resist.
See this VIDEO that Heather created and join in the fun.

PTI products ~
Cardstock:  Stampers Select White
Stamps:  Beautiful Butterflies (sentiment)

I stamped the daisies onto white cardstock and used a white crayon on all the petals.  Then I sponged over them with a pale orange ink,  the centers of the flowers are inked with orange markers and covered with Stickles. The Banners are from Spellbinders, popped onto the stamped panel with double sided tape. I tied brown Baker's twine and a lime green button to match the lime green base card.

MIM #129

Make It Monday's Challenge for this week is White Crayon Resist.  See Heather's pretty card created HERE.
Now I have done this before, but not sure where the white crayon is that I used... it was a good one! I tried it with red and green crayons (on the cherries and leaves). These are very waxy crayons and I am going to find the better quality white one for my next attempt at this challenge:)

Click on the photo for more details

The area around the cherries is sponged with pink ink just on one corner and side of the Label.
 The inside sentiment reads:
"Your sweet gift was so thoughtful and appreciated"

MIM #128

Love making my own backgrounds with those small stamps you get with sets ~ especially Papertrey Ink sets :)  Ashley has demonstrated in this VIDEO, how easy it is to Stamp Random Background Patterns on your projects.
I have to admit, it's not quite as easy for me, but still a fun technique.  So here is another card I am entering in the Make It Monday Challenge

I used the negative die from Spellbinders' Labels Eight and stamped the sentiment onto yellow cardstock to show through.  The Leaves around the silk flower are from Spellbinders' Foliage Two.

MIM #128 and PFP

There is a great new Make It Monday Challenge this week.
Ashley has put together a video on how to make "Random Background Patterns".  Now this one I found fun and easy to do... NOT as 10-minute-easy as Ashley's card  ~ more like 2 hours, but still ...

PTI Products used ~
Cardstock:  Stampers Select White
Stamps/Dies:  Beautiful Butterflies; Spiral Bouquet; Rosie Posie

I used  three small stamps for the background in three different colored inks.  The Butterflies were die cut from glitter paper.  The Ribbon Banner die is from Spellbinders. There is also a Spellbinders Impressabilities embossed "Pebbles" background on the sage card base which is from Cardstock Warehouse Paper Co.

I am also entering this card in A Passion for Papertrey's ~
Use Three Embellishments Challenge

My three embellishments:  Ribbon, gold twine, button
and I think you could add the dies as embellies also :)

MIM-Double Backgrounds

This note card is the result of trying Make It Monday's Challenge (again).  I struggled with several 'double backgrounds' and found the Polka Dots and Script Writing were the best (of a whole bunch of misses) to work for me.  I am frantically making cards for all the 'occasions' coming up in August plus a few thank you notes from my recent trip.  Hopefully I can join in a few challenges at the same time :)
