MIM~PFP~MFW

This card is going to be entered in three challenges:

Make It Monday #124     Dress Up Your Envelopes
A Passion for Papertrey   Inspired By
Moxie Fab World             The Birthday Card Challenge

My Inspiration photo for my card is this Birthday cake ~
pretty and  yummy, let me tell ya!

I outlined a space on the envelope with the washi tape so I could add the address.  I am mailing this one, so the envie doesn't have any pop ups ~ I used the 'masking' technique with the flowers again here.

My card ~

Stamps/Dies:   Rosie Posie by PTI (glued on with pop dots for dimension)

MFW - Birthday Card Challenge

I have to make a few Birthday cards this weekend cause I am not going to have my usual  "last minute time to get 'em out".  AND, as luck would have it, there is a Birthday Card Challenge in the Moxie Fab World  :)

The base card is terra cotta, the blue and brown stripped paper is from a Scrapbook pack of 'Baby Boy' papers that I found in my stash, from God knows where or when.  The sun and clouds are foam shapes from the Dollar Store and the Sailboat is 3-D chipboard.  I placed a piece of Elmer's Designer Masking Tape under the boat to mimic water.

I think this card fits the bill ~ Cooper, my grandson, is taking sailing lessons this summer. Can you guess how old he is going to be on this Birthday?

MIM #124 & MFW

The Make It Monday Challenge this week is right up my alley ~ "Dress Up Your Envelopes".  I love to decorate my card's envelopes, it's sort of a preview of what the recipient is getting inside :)  My envies are not usually as elaborate as Melissa's ~ see her video HERE, mostly because I am mailing cards more than handing them out.  But, I can certainly take notes from her for the ones I do hand deliver!

I am also entering the Moxie Fab World's Mixy Matchy Challenge since it has some patterned paper that is just that :^)
You still have time to enter HERE

I die cut the flowers and leaves out of plain paper as well as cardstock so I could use the "Masking Technique" on the envelope ... I didn't think the popped up flowers would make it through the mail :-(

MFW-Mixy Matchy

I have been  collecting bits and pieces of patterned card stock for some time now.  There is a Challenge over at Moxie Fab World where Cath is asking for projects with ... yes! mixy matchy patterns.
"The goal is to break the age-old rule that says patterns shouldn't be combined, and mix and match to your heart's content."
Okay, I have enough scraps to make a hundred cards for this one... anyone else out there have a huge collection ;-)
Let's start with my most recent pieces of scrap papers and we will see about how many more I can come up with, eh?

The grosgrain ribbon is more orange color than the red that it appears to be in this pic. The plaid and the floral cardstock are actually from a pack of note cards I bought a while ago and recently found. The green piece with the sentiment stamped on it was sitting on my craft desk...kinda collecting dust,  the color matched the other scraps, so I used it like a tag.

MIM #123

Made another card for Make It Monday ~ Make Your Own Paint.  Ashley used Gesso, added re-inkers in different colors and painted onto canvas gift bags, which came out so adorable!   I didn't have any Gesso, in fact, I've never heard of it before, BUT, I certainly couldn't let a MIM Challenge go by without trying, right?  I saw that someone used Acrylic Paint and re-inkers, so I thought I would follow along that route  :)  I like the clumpy texture it created.

I die cut a Butterfly and used a brass stencil (used to emboss with a light box~~remember those?).  After mixing glimmery blue ink with white acrylic paint, I then brushed it onto sections of the butterfly. The purple is water color paint.  I used double sided tape and popped the butterfly onto the tilted  violet wood grain embossed panel and glued that onto the green (paint chip from Lowe's) panel.

PTI products~
Cardstock: Base card is Stamper's Select White
Stamps:  Spiral Bouquet

The sunflower is embossed and I used the brass stencil as a template to paint onto it.  There is Copper Stickles in the center of the flower. I didn't have 'Gesso', so I mixed white Acrylic paint with lime green re-inker to create the textured leaves and stem :)
The green, yellow and terra cotta panels are all paint chips from Lowe's.
