Make it Monday #51 and For Cath Blog Hop

I just returned from a trip out to CA, so I've been MIA and need to catch up on a few posts/challenges.

Plus, I really wanted to join in this morning when I saw the blog hop that
sweet Virginia and Lorena organized for everyone's favorite Moxie Fabber ~ Cath , who's not at CHA with the rest of the Paper Crafts Magazine gang because of shoulder pain :( Feel better, dear friend!

Check out the Blog Hop on "Yes, Virginia" here:

My card also is posted to this week's Make It Monday technique "Dimensions Sentiment Banner" which was a "first" for me and I pretty much followed Nicole's lead here:http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2012/01/make-it-monday-51.html

MFW - Tuesday Trigger - Winter Blossoms

Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger is a beautiful infusion of soft, muted flowers. I was inspired by the flowers (of course) but also the sweet colors. Unfortunately I needed a Sympathy card and my go-to-flower is this Magnolia. The ink color is dove grey (and the inside sheet has muted grey and pink and off white flowers) which seem to be in the background of the TT.
You have until Thursday the 26th this week to enter here:

My Card~
Cardstock: Base card is Pink Parchment by Xerox; White and Antique White by Recollections
Stamp: Magnolia from All Night Media
Tools: Corner Rounder by EK Success: Exacto knife used to cut out the frame from the flower
Ink: Sepia from Archival; Chalks used for coloring the petals and leaves of the Magnolia
Embellishments: Ribbon from Offray: Yellow Stickles; Panel popped up on the base with mounting tape for a bit more dimension

Make it Monday #47- 2011 A la Carte

This is another card for the "A la Carte" version of MIM this week. I was hoping to get a few more of the techniques down onto cards this week, but seemed to have run out of time. Anyone know where the heck it goes? I decided to go with the Reverse Applique from MIM #40. I included a photo to show the scraps of PP that show through the butterflies before I added the sheet of paper with my Get Well message to the inside of the card which covers up the messy part.

My Card~
Cardstock: Orchid base card is from Recollections; inserts are scraps of Pacific Vineyard by PTI
Tools: Butterfly punch from Martha Stewart; large corner rounder from EKSuccess; White opaque marker (making my "stitched" butterfly trails) is from Martha Stewart also
Embellishments: Glittery Ribbon is from Michael's; silk flower from my stash and brad from Spare-Parts by the Paper Studio

Make it Monday #47- 2011 A la Carte

This week's Make it Monday is a summary of all 46 videos posted in 2011.http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2012/01/make-it-monday-47-2011-a-la-carte.html
Fabulous idea allowing us to create a card using a technique we might have missed. I am always in awe of how Nicole Heady creates her hand drawn frames around images, so I thought I would try MIM#12 Line Frame 101 which I did not get a chance to participate in at the time this video was shown.

My card:

Cardstock: Base card and plaid PP is Making Memories
Stamps: Sentiment if from PTI "Fall Elegance"; grateful puppy dog is from Delta
Ink: Sepia from Archival Ink: Icing White (bone) from Opaque Markers by Martha Stewart
Embellishments: Glitter heart punched from Glitter Paper Pack from Colorbok; silk flower and leaf (yep it's covering up an "oops" :) from my stash

Thank you for stopping by :o)

MFW - Tuesday Trigger - StripeTastic

Happy New
Year
to everyone!
Hope you all had a Blessed Christmas and you all enjoy a Happy, Healthy 2012!

I liked this inspirational photo at Moxie Fab World for this week's Tuesday Trigger:
http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/12/tuesday-trigger-stripe-tastic.html
I actually thought I would do something with the 'stripes', like many of the beautiful entries there (check out the above link)...but I ended up using the colors as my inspiration instead. Not sure who the recipient will be on this one~but I really like how it came out and I the person who gets it will have to really like the Glitz :o)

My Card: I added a closeup of the glittery bird, but you can also click on the photo for more detail.
The base card, bird and fine (all over my craft desk) glitter is from Martha Stewart. The dogwood flower card under the bird is a cover for a pocket calendar from 2011 which I could NOT through away ;)
The crochet ribbon trim and buttons are "It's the little things" collection from Fancy Pants...a 'winner day' prize from MFW a few months ago ~Thank You Cath!! All of the sweet colored papers and embellies from this collection are fabulous and the colors match perfectly for this TT challenge.
