I thought Betsy's card was amazing!  I didn't get a 'perfect' results with my card, but pulled out some dies and stamps that worked pretty well.  I couldn't mix the texture paste to a good consistency for this technique, so I improvised using glue over the stamped image in the center of my 'iron-look' frame.  I sponged on brown and terra cotta inks plus used Blue Smoke Perfect Pearls.

Stamps: PTI's Embellishments and Spiral Bouquet; Hero Arts' Paris
Die cuts:  Spellbinders

I just think wood grain and Song Birds go together so well~
Or maybe I just needed another reason to use those beautiful stamps/dies 😊

If anyone has read my Blog before, you know I am a hoarder and saver of ALL things that can be considered 'crafty'!  See the strings under the bird?  They are from the piece of linen used on the card I made for Anna's 4th Anniversary-Linen challenge.  😀

Stamp-A-Faire 2017 - 5th Anniversary - Wood

Wood by Lizzie Jones

Create a project featuring some kind of woodgrain inlay technique.  You can choose to re-create the exact project from Lizzie 's video HERE,  or design your own using the same concepts.

Click on photo for more details
I'm not sure my 'wood' really looks like wood the grainy texture I was going for but, this splotchy effect kinda works, no?
Funny story about the inlaid pieces happy and birthday ~
I die cut both out of the wood look cardstock and the peach card.  I then proceded to add the tiny bits of the peach colored word back onto the sticky sheet behind the wood panel.   Got all the way through before I realized what the heck I did wrong 😏
I quess that's the reason I don't do many puzzles these days!

The flowers/leaves are from Peonies on Parade ~ I sparkled 'em up a bit with Wink of Stella

The first challenge of Saturday morning is to create a project featuring faux leather.  You can choose to re-create the exact project from Ashley HERE or design your own using the same concepts.  I admit, I was not too sure about this technique of making faux leather, but it was fun and easy to do.  Plus I like the way my card came out!  BONUS!

I had this old farm house wood block image inked in Sepia for __?__ years.  I fussy cut around the edges and adhered it to my faux leather panel.  The Sentiment and pumpkins are from

There were beautiful fields of Lavender flowers in Italy and I wish I was able to bring some of it home!  But as the next best thing I bought Lavender soaps made there to give as souvenirs instead of the "Oh-you-shouldn't-have" magnets and key chains gifts!

My tag was cut with a circle die on to Stamper's Select White C/S and the Rosie Posie leaves are cut from green felt, the Swoosh 'With Love' die is cut on Lavender C/S.
The velvet flower and pearl center along with that organza bag the are from my stash.

I thought of clouds for my 'cotton' creation.  Used my Nesting Cover Plate for the branches my Song Birds are perched on with the fluffy blue-ish white clouds in the background.  This will be an Anniversary card for friends celebrating this month.

Stamp-A-Faire 2017-1st Anniversaery Paper

I  tried to duplicate this technique with my Butterfly Cover Plate.  It took hours to pick out those teeny tiny pieces of the largest butterfly and glue them back into the shape on a card panel.  I thought if I tried to pull up the butterfly and just leave the little pieces, it wouldn't really look too good so I cut a 4th cover plate out of vellum and stitched it on top.

I made my bow out of paper strips and dyed the Song Bird leaves with re-inkers with a touch of Wink of Stella.  I wrapped the box with patterned paper, added a sentiment tag and a bit of baker's twine on one end for good measure :-)

Oh how lucky am I?  Needed a 'new baby girl' card for my friend's third granddaughter who was born on Monday.  So I had the oportunity to try out the Z-Fold technique from MIM this week using my Sweet Baby stamps and dies.

The card panels were  decorated with
1.  a stripe stencil
2.  flower stencil
3.  chevron embossing folder

The grays and pinks used on my card are the color theme and designs used in this baby's nursery :-)
It was a fun card to make ~ thank you, Ashley!

*The '30' are die-cuts from PTI By The Numbers
*Clouds are fabric sticker shapes from Studio Calico
*Happy Birthday 'sky' is a Cuttlebug embossing folder

I just returned from a trip to Tuscany. It was an awesome time spent with 8 other friends. One of the Special people on this trip was my friend's son, Scotty who turned 30 on August 3rd.  I made this card and brought it with me for the amazing celebration of his 30th birthday. Scotty has a medical condition which occurred at his premature birth, he was not expected to live very long, but thankfully, God had other plans.
We were all so happy to be a part of this truly amazing "miracle" celebration.
