MIM #92

Make It Monday #92 features a video from Melissa Phillips showing us how she creates Layered Vellum Die Cut cards.  Check it out HERE

I made a simple card using a mason jar on vellum and stamped onto patterned paper. There are a couple of snowflakes in the jar and a few more falling from the sentiment. I also punched out some extras to put inside the card for the recipient to gather up off the floor when they open this card :o)

Cardstock:  Card base is Stamper's Select White by PTI; polka dot is from AC Moore; cloudy Vellum is from Fiscars (the cloudiness looks like snow in 'good' light); White Glitter & navy blue snowflakes punched from Target papers
Sentiment: generated from my computer and 'Blessings' from PTI's Fall Elegance
Tools & embellishments:  Corner Rounder from EK Success; Snowflake is Marvy; clear bling from Studio G; Baker's Twine is Darice from ACMoore

PTI - November 2012 Blog Hop

Here's another card fro PTI - November Blog Hop.
What a fun Blog Hop, wish I had time to make a card for each book cover in my library.
This one is taken from Nicole's book choices of Cover Art "Knack~ Weekend Londen" although my houses are in Paris, they are all overlapping, the bright colors are there, the bold sentiment mimics the book title....I thought my card version represented the cover pretty well :)

My card ~
Cardstock: Stampers Select White from PTI
Sentiment:  generated from my computer and from Spiral Bouquet by PTI; the houses and Eiffel Tower are a note card,
Embellishments:  Green glitter 3-D car shape  from Recollections; Satin Ribbon from Michael's

MIM #91 & MFW-Journaling Cards

It's Sunday night and here I am getting my card posted for two of my fave challenges:

Make It Monday - Faux Pockets
Dawn McVey is hosting this week ~ her card is amazing and she makes this technique look so simple

Moxie Fab World - Journaling Cards Challenge

Cath has five challenges from this new Paper Crafts Magazine Special Issue "Tips & Tricks". I haven't had time to check out all the great cards posted yet, but plan to soon.  There is one more day for these challenges, so I am going to give them all my best shot and you should too.

My Card ~ click on images for more details
  • Base card is Stamper's Select White from PTI; green polkadot is from American Crafts
  • Stamps: Bee trail and leaves (on pull out tag) are from Spiral Bouquet by PTI
  • "Birthday numbers" from Madison Park invites pack; Journaling card 'pocket' from KI Memories; Shipping tag is part of a gift from my sweet friend Maureen, whose Blog you should definitely check out here:  Watermarks Design
  • 3-D stickers from The Dollar Store; Ribbon & button from my stash
I will have to try this technique again, my card seems to be all over the place and not at all what the original in my head looks like :-{
It really is a cool way to give a gift card or cash money inside the pocket. Of course, the recipient may not bother to open the card if the fun stuff is on the outside  :)

Thank you for stopping by tonight.

MFW - Ready for Red

Getting in under the wire. I thought about this Moxie Fab World - Tuesday Trigger, earlier in the week, but, life seems to get in the way sometimes. Anywho, here is the inspiration ~ Fabulous, right?

Here is the Christmas card I created with the colors from this beautiful photo. Of course the gray (which is so very close to the gray above) looks like Kraft in my photo due to the bad lighting in the house, I may have time to re-take this tomorrow morning in the daylight? Sorry :(
