MIM #67

Just got home from a trip up North to be with my family.  My Dad passed away on May 18th.
I need lots of Thank You notes to send to family and friends who have been so comforting and kind.

Make it Monday this week features a tutorial by Betsy Veldman.  She is showing us step by step how to mix patterned papers and have an interesting and beautiful effect watch it here  MIM #67
I pretty much followed Betsy's video (why mess with perfection :*)

MIM #65

Hope you all had a beautiful Mother's Day. I spent the day with a dear friend who is a Priest from Chicago vacationing here on Merritt Island.  We went to Mass this morning at the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Queen of the Universe in Orlando this morning. I had never been there before and Fr. has spoken of it so often, I just had to have the experience and what better day than today in honor our Mothers.  Wish my Mom could have been there with me today.

On another (crafty note)  I have another Make It Monday post ~ making backgrounds with patterned papers. I am just lovin using up some of the hundreds of scrap papers I have hanging around my desk (bet I'm not alone ;)

You still have time to enter  HERE

MIM #65 - Backgrounds from Patterned Paper Scraps

Make It Monday #65 is a challenge I'll just bet we all could work on  for months with all the scraps of card stock and patterned papers in our craft rooms!
AND, maybe I will just continue to do so ~ I love using these pieces of too-pretty-to-throw-out scraps :^)
Dawn's video is so helpful ~ she shows the entire process from beginning to end.  Check it out  Here

I used the negative part of PTI's Banner Border die to create my "strips", taping the different patterned papers behind it to peek through.  I printed the sentiment on my computer and cut it out to look like a trailing banner from the butterfly.  The butterfly is a 3D sticker from Special Moments.

Thank you for stopping by ~ I love to hear what you think!

MFW - Postage Challenge & MIM - Patterned Paper Scraps

I am entering this card in two challenges today.
Moxie Fab World's Card Creations-The Postage Challenge.
You can post your projects incorporating "Postage"   Here

I like the way this card turned out, although it seemed to take a lot longer to come together on paper, than it did in my head.  I will use it as a Bon Voyage card for a friend who is going on a 16 day cruise to Europe (no, I'm not toooo jealous!)

The second challenge is Papertrey Ink's Make It Monday #65 - Make a Background with Scraps
Check out Dawn McVey's video
Here
Dawn has such a flair with color and patterned papers that this looked a lot easier than it actually was for me :*)

My Card ~ click on the photo for more details

Base Card is Kraft and the scraps are from various companies;
bird and flower branch sprig is a 3D sticker from Special Moments; Corner Rounder from EKSuccess;
Border Banner used for the bright yellow "scrap" on top is PTI.

Thank you for stopping by my Blog ~ your comments are always so appreciated!
