MIM #250 + SSC #127

MAKE IT MONDAY
MASKED BACKGROUNDS

Laurie Willison  is up on MIM this week showing us  her step by step instructions on how to create amazing masked backgrounds.
You can watch her wonderful video HERE.  You still have a little time to join in the fun.
My card~
I masked off the white cs border with post-it notes and used daubers to sponge on the turquoise, lime green and avacardo, which looks like muddy brown in photo :(  Then I added my Song Birds dies to create the silhouette effect on this note card, which needs to get into the mail to let my cousin know I am thinking of her.

I am also adding this card to
SUNDAY STAMPS CHALLENGE #127
Thank you, Theresa for choosing my beachy scene card as one of the Top Cups in last week's challenge :-)  It was such a fun challenge!
This week at SSC it is all about Color.  We are to use a minimum of three or more of these beautiful colors plus a neutral of your choice.
BTW ~ This is one of my very favorite color combinations!

My Card ~
The Calla Lily from Stampin' Up and sentiment from PTI's Beautiful Butterflies were inked in black StazOn onto a paint chip which is popped up with double sided tape for dimension. The sage green ribbon may not qualify for CAS, but I felt this card needed the softness of it. The black panel peeking out from behind was adhered to the white card base.

SSC #126

First off, I want to thank Katie and Leena for picking my cards as Top Cups last week! It was a beautiful Color Challenge which I really loved and will continue to use on future projects.

I'm joining Sunday Stamps again this week with their fun Sketch Challenge.   They're creating a scene with the sketch as a bit of a twist. The Design Team has created some amazing samples which you can check out HERE.

This is the Sketch

My card is a beach scene ~~of course! That is real sand my Adirondack chair is sitting in overlooking the ocean ;-)

My niece is going to be 15 (gasp) in a couple of months and I wanted to make a card for this sweet young lady.

I used PTI's By the Numbers dies, cut them out of vellum like Lizzie suggested and used my ink daubers to blend three colors onto the numbers.  Masked the numbers to add the sketchy flowers in gold ink on top.  PTI's Boutique Borders Birthday sentiment is added in purple ink.  The blings started out covering up a smudge mark, but then I couldn't help adding a few more ;-)

SSC 125

I created this card as part of a set in MIM#247 and also wanted to enter it in Sunday Stamps Challenge, but couldn't figure out how to post from a different URL (?) as Mr InLinkz says he already posted the link  :-(  So I just made it a separate post on my Blog.

I completed two of the card set using PTI's  Rosie Posie and Beautiful Butterflies stamp sets.  There is a third 'work in process' which I will add to this post in a bit.  Not sure I'll use solid stamps for this technique, they came out a bit too muddy.  Looking at all the beautiful entries, I'm thinking outline stamps are best.

I am also joining a talented group of ladies at
Sunday Stamps Challenge 125
This week it's all about color.

We can use a minimum of 3 of these gorgeous colors from the Palette above, plus any Neutral.  Check it out HERE
