PTI Transformation Tues #14

TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY CHALLENGE #14

I am joining this week's Transformation Tuesday challenge with Dawn McVey as she takes a card that she created for the July release and changes it up for a whole new look. You can see her video and both of her (always) beautiful cards HERE.
Seriously....can you believe Dawn would ever need to re-do any one of her AMAZING creations 😯

I love this challenge and I have a few cards I've made that I feel aren't quite as 'amazing' as they were while still in my head

~ so having the opportunity for a do-over is PERFECT for me 😊

 NEW
The transformed card has the same Spiral Bouquet stamps (adding the 2-step stamping to the flowers) and the Wonderful Word: hello, but I changed up the pattern papers and added an embossed background to the white panel.

MAKE IT MONDAY
Repeating The Greeting

I am joining Lizzie Jones on MIM this week as she shares how repeating a sentiment can give it more substance and make it a feature of your card.  You can watch her video and see her beautiful card HERE.

My Card ~

Well...I'm rushing (as usual) to get a few cards made and posted before heading out.
I love "Spring Woods" stamp/dies for a Sympathy card, just not  sure about this repeat-the-sentiment/greeting technique is the best to use with this particular sentiment. Truth be told, I couldn't find my "Sending Prayers" stamp, soooo when it appears from wherever it is hiding, I may have to change it out (?)

PTI Blog Hop - July 2018

It's the 25th of the month ~ time for the  July 2018  Blog Hop
at Papertrey Ink.  Take a look at the Summertime fun inspiration photo and then head over to see everyone's interpretation HERE.

PTI Inspiration photo
 My Card ~
I don't have the "Salt Air Flora and Fauna" Stamps/Die sets yet
but I wanted to have a sea-life and ocean theme, so I used my
What the Doodle: Waves here to mimic the inspiration photo.
Used every blue/green colored inks I own on the water and sky,
the pops of red are on the sailboat and the base card.
The happy birthday die is cut from glitter paper and those cute fish  charms are from Michael's Crafts which I've been hoarding forever and needed them onto a card~this challenge seemed like the perfect time.  😊

PTI Transformation Tuesday #13

TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY CHALLENGE #13

I am joining this week's Transformation Tuesday challenge with Stephanie Gold as she takes a card that she created for this month’s release and changes up the color scheme for a whole new look. You can see her video and both of her awesome cards HERE.

I love this challenge, it gives us an opportunity to transform a card we made before that we were not entirely happy with into a creation we like better and will send out to someone. 😊💓

OLD
I really like this card made not too long ago for a MIM challenge, but I wanted to try this same technique keeping the tropical look with a different color scheme for a possible dude B-Day card.

I think this color combo works nicely.
The added sequins, which I forgot to add on the first version seem to look a little like dew drops in the rain forest ~ maybe (?)
and ...
can you guess what else is different ~ purely by accident? 😲
But, it's a happy mistake that totally works for me!

PS:  Sure do hope that my card post #13
to Transformation Tuesday #13 is a lucky number! 🙌

Creating Stencils From Die Cuts

This week's MIM features  Melissa Phillips as she shares how to create stencils from die cuts to use on your next project.  You can watch her video and see her beautiful cards HERE.  I have done this before but to watch Melissa (the professional) show us how ~ is such a treat.

Click on photo for more details
I made a stencil out of Palm Prints for my background on Stamper's Select White Card stock which is framed in a Wonky Stitch die and adhered to a True Black card panel onto a bright green card base.
The Parrot is from Hero Arts.  I will most likely add a Birthday sentiment in black ink in that center of white space~I couldn't decide at this time.   :-)

OMBRE WATERCOLOR BACKGROUNDS

For this week’s MIM, Betsy Veldman is showing us an easy way of creating “watercolor” backgrounds with a pretty ombre effect.
You can see her ALWAYS beautiful card creations and video HERE.

My Card:
Click on photo for more details ~ like the glitter paper I used for the sentiment.
I sure hope you all are not sick of seeing my "Palm Prints" stamps~
I can't stop using them. 😄
But, don't I do that with all my stamp sets?  Funny thing is, I have all these new sets for such a long time before inking them up, then it seems they just don't leave the top of my craft desk!
My Song Birds are just about worn down to their flat back side!  Am I right, Marcia?  LOL

 Inchie Elements

I haven't made a card with 'inchies' in forever!  How 'bout you?

I am joining Lexi Daly as she shares ideas for creating inchies and making fun cards with them. You can watch her video and see her fun card HERE.

I used the small butterflies in my Beautiful Butterflies stamp set and inked them with different bright colored Distress Oxides onto a strip of White card stock, like Lexi shows us.  Then I dusted off  my 1 1/4" square punch, layered them onto an embossed white panel and popped that piece onto my A2 avocado green card base.

PTI-Transformation Tuesday #11

Transformation Tuesday Challenge #11

I am joining in the Transformation Tuesday challenge over at PTI with Melissa Phillips as she transforms a wreath concept with a whole new theme.  You can see her video and lovely cards HERE.

I love this challenge, it gives us an opportunity to transform a card we made before that we were not entirely happy with.  I can't imagine Melissa has ever made a card that I would not be absolutely thrilled to pieces to receive ~ just sayin' 💓

OLD card:

This started out as a note card.  The base C/S is cream and the Rosie Posie blooms are stamped first in white ink on Kraft cardstock. The next layer on the flower is Baby Blue with a third layer of Brilliance Pearlescent Sky Blue. The leaves were stamped in white ink then in a mossy green.  It was an okay color combo, but I found I was always pushing it aside and using or created another card.

NEW card:

I popped the Kraft panel onto Stamper's Select White and also die cut the "Thank you".  The base is embossed with a 'fussy' Sizzix flowery embossing folder which barely peeks out.  I outlined the Rosie Posies with my white ink pen to help them stand out a little bit more. Oh, I thought a couple or seven blings were in order too 😉

PS: This thank you note was mailed out yesterday~no longer being pushed in the back of the box! 😊

Creative With Stamps

It's July1st already and half of the year is gone!  WOW,time really does fly when you are having fun 😉

Well, there is one fun thing that happens on the 1st of each new month, Creative With Stamps has a new challenge for you.

For this month's challenge, we are looking for cards with a Flag image.  I thought for sure I had a flag somewhere in this craft room, but all I could find was a 4th of July stamp and I cut some sparkly stars from dies I recently purchased to pop onto a Happy Birthday (to the USA) embossing folder.  I did find a flag postage stamp sticker~hope that counts 😁

You can enter up to three of  your card creations to be posted on our Challenge Blog HERE.  There are only a few 'guidelines' to follow to win some awesome prizes, so be sure to take a look.
