MAKE IT MONDAY
PAPER CASTING CHALLENGE

You have time to check out Danielle's video on this paper casting technique HERE.

On this card, I lightly inked the Rose and leaf onto the TP after I cast it because I still could not get as deep an impression with the stamps and they show up more. I had a bit of a mishap with my gold embossed sentiment, the leaf must have been inked too much and it picked up the embossing power in spots, the colors are more subtle in real life than they show in my photo and that bee die looks more like a spider to me :(

... but thought I would post this card anyway.

MAKE IT MONDAY
PAPER CASTING CHALLENGE

You can get a fabulous description of this fun (and funny) technique using toilet tissue on Danielle's video.
She does a great job explaining it HERE.

I am bound and determined to get this right, so here is another card I created.

*Tan panel with the round window is a Martha Stewart paint chip
*Wide width Brown sheer ribbon is Anna Griffin

*Base card stock is PTI Stamper's Select White
*Stamps are PTI  Spiral Bouquet and Gina K. Dogwood
*TP is Quilted Northern :-)

MAKE IT MONDAY
PAPER CASTING
Okay this is another attempt at paper casting on Quilted Northern Tissue.   You can get a better understanding of that last sentence and the technique on Danielle's video,  HERE.

On this card I stamped a Dalia flower image onto the TT, let it dry and cut it to fit behind the framed window.  I stamped the Spiral Bouquet sentiment separately and fussy cut around the impression, adhered it to the top portion under the multicolored ribbon yarn.  This stamp came out a bit more impressed than the tag made prior... but I'm thinkin' there's a lot more room for improvement for me ;-)

PAPERTREY SEPTEMBER 2014 BLOG HOP CHALLENGE

One more card using versions of the colors, Autumn Rose, Ripe Avocado and  Smokey Shadow.

There is a lot of space (for me ;-) on the top panel but, every embellishment I added just looked like "too much", so I left it blank...for now.

I Love the pretty berry-like flowers in the metal pot of this inspiration photo.   My Grape Hyacinth flower stamp is about as close as I can come so, here is another card using the Autumn Rose, Smoky Shadow, Ripe Avocado color recipe.

MAKE IT MONDAY
PAPER CASTING

Okay, another Monday, another learning experience (for me).

This week the talented and very sweet Miss Danielle  Flanders is up on MIM and she is showing us how to create beautiful embossed and debossed tags by using a paper casting technique with stamps and dies and TP.
I must admit, I had to watch this video a couple of times before I attempted my paper casting project :-)

I tried a tag first, using a shaped die cut to cast my Spiral Bouquet stamps on.  It cut out okay, but the layers of TP seemed to be coming undone, so I stapled it to my DIY notched banner with NBUS blue staples :-)

Not crazy about how this came out, so I'll have to give the technique another try. Also,  thinking this tag will look better tied to the gift bag instead of hanging it on the wine bottle.

MAKE IT MONDAY CHALLENGE
PAPER WEAVING

I haven't had a chance to check out all of the posts on the MIM challenge, but definitely plan to do so and you can click on the link above to see for yourself :-)
I was playing around with some pink and brown paper scraps and came up with one more card.  I used the negative die cuts from Beautiful Butterflies and placed the white cardstock over the paper weaving. Also cut one of the butterflies out of gold foil and adhered half of it to the top of one, curling up it's wing to show a bit of the patterned papers underneath.  The ribbon is brown seam binding crinkled up with water and the square "quilt" brad was placed in the center of the bow.

Sorry about the dark, shadowy picture, I will try to retake this in the daylight because it really is very pretty IRL.

It's raining outside right now, so this photo was taken on the windowsill of my craft room window.  My garden loves rainy days, my lawn loves rainy day and I love rainy days cause I get to stay in and enjoy a bit of crafty time ;-)

Oh, and seeing as I am using my Spellbinders 'Spiral Blossom One' die, Spellbinders 'Lacey Squares' and this tan embroidery (found at the Thrift Store), for the very first time,  I am also entering this card in Darnell's NBUS Challenge #2.
There are more than 240 entries, you have to check out some of the most wonderful cards posted...go take a look...so much inspiration!

NBUS-Challenge #2 and HB2U, Bev

First off, I need to apologize for being MIA the last several weeks out there in Blog Land!  I have been working on several projects around my house and have had no "Craft time" ;-( ... not even  to comment on my blog friends posts, cards and projects.  I promise by next week  "I'll be back" around to visit with you all
(that was in my best Arnold Schwarzenegger voice!)

Now onto  some crafty fun Schtuff.

The incredibly funny, generous and so darn sweet Darnell has hit another milestone of 600 (!) followers on her awesome blog.  In honor of this not-so-much-of-a-surprise-to-me accomplishment, she is hosting another NBUS~Challenge.  Check it out  HERE ~  or click on her NBUS moniker on my sidebar and you will go directly to her home page. I'm tellin' you, you won't want to leave :-)

Here is my card for her challenge
