 MAKE IT MONDAY CHALLENGE #210

 USING VELLUM TO SOFTEN PATTERNS

Lizzie is up today on Papertrey Ink's MIM.  She shares her ideas for using vellum to soften bold patterns.  She's also got some tips for how to adhere vellum without the adhesive showing.  Check it out HERE

I die cut a Spellbinder from the White cardstock and also the vellum.  Inked up a Rosie Posie in some bright colored inks and softened it with the vellum.  The 'hello' Swoosh is die cut and glued to the top of the vellum.

PAPERTREY APRIL 2015
 BLOG HOP CHALLENGE

This is the inspiration photo for this month's Blog Hop~there are so many gorgeous items to pick up as your entry, it was difficult to decide.  I'm sure I will create a few more cards using this :-)
Check it HERE

I copied the vintage Hobnail White Milk glass vase with my polka dot embossing folder.  The leaves and flowers are die cuts from PTI's Songbirds which mimic some of the colored flowers in the photo.   The striped table top and a border of navy frame was added to the white cardbase.

MAKE IT MONDAY #209

WHITE ON WHITE DIE CUTS WITH A POP OF COLOR

Lexi's got a fun challenge for us today, using lots of white and just a pop of color.  You can check it out HERE

I love this look, but don't use the technique often because I have to admit my card looked very different in my head :-)
But, I think everyone else who posted has got it down perfectly!

This new baby congrats card is going to my friend's son and daughter-in-law.  Their second baby was born last Friday.
Can you see the three giraffe die cuts behind the grass in the background?  8-)

Monika's Birthday Party

The very sweet Monika of Creative with Monika had a birthday earlier this month and she has been celebrating the entire month of April.
Now isn't that a fun idea?!?

Monika is also hosting a challenge for us to CASE a card she has previously made. There are several to choose from, which is tough because her cards are all so lovely and her 'style' in cardmaking is so varied.
Take a moment to visit Monika and wish her a Happy Day ~ you have until April 30th, so no excuses ;-)

this is the card that I am CASEing

And here is the card I made:

I tried to duplicate Monika's style and techniques closely by making a circle stencil, creating the water background with Prismacolor pencils then blending with a wet paint brush. The fishes are colored in the same way, fussy cut out and popped onto the card base with double sided tape for a  bit of dimension.

I  hope you have a wonderful birthday month and the good times continue through the year, Monika!

MAKE IT MONDAY CHALLENGE
OMBRE STAMPING

Ombre is all the rage in everything from hairstyles to fashion to home decor and even stamping!  I am joining Laurie as she shows us how to use inks to create this lovely look. You can check out the entries HERE.

I kinda ombre'd the background as well as the numbers here, but needed to highlight my butterflies a bit more than just adhering them to the White card base :-)
