Such a pretty color combination, eh?
My base card stock is more of a lighter melon than it photographed this time~the sun is getting ready to set and it looks like dusk on my patio.  I like this Rosie Posie flower in an Aqua Blue, which also did not photograph true to color  :-(
Oh well, I still like it and I'm sure I'll use this combo over and over.

I made this card when I saw the Blog Hop photo last week, I loved the color combo. It has already been mailed out to a friend for her birthday, but I took a photo so I could enter it in the Blog Hop Challenge  :-)

This beautiful Poppy Background stamp was a Blog Candy win from the wonderful Miss Virginia Lu ~ Thank you Virginia!!

Watercolor Artsy Background

Betsy has a video this week showing us the beautiful technique of an artsy background HERE

I really love the look of watercolor on my cards ~ it is the softest effect...note to self:  do this more often!

This is another card going up North to my friend, Betty.  She just finished another round of chemo (she has to stay in the hospital for 5 days during these sessions). Betty loves her garden with Spring and Summer's beautiful flowers in bloom, so I thought this would be a fitting "thinking of you" card for her this week.

Envelope Wraps

You have to check out Danielle's video HERE on how to take dressing up your card envelopes to a new level.

This envelope wrap was created for a card that will be mailed, so it will go into a larger envelope addressed to my friend in MA.
I used a Tim Holtz label die "Ornamental" for the wrap around part in pink marble cardstock, the PTI "Wonderful Words:~hello" die is cut in chocolate brown cardstock and the Tim Holtz "Bird Branch" die is cut from a StudioG Paper Pack I picked up at Michael's this week. All of the parts were adhered to a Kraft envelope.

Virginia's View

Virginia's View - Challenge #3
 Stitching

Virginia has a new challenge for May.  It is to add some sort of stitching on your projects.  It can be machine-stitched, hand-stitched or faux-stitched.

Well, I had this card in my head for a while now, it is for my Grandson Jack's birthday coming up in June (so unlike me not to be making this at the last minute!).  I originally thought I would attach the star balloons with Baker's twine, but used my extensive sewing skills instead ;-)

Click on photo for more details
The background is embossed with the Numbers Cuttlebug folder, the star balloons are a punch from Marvy, that cute little alien is from a sheet of 5 stickers and googlie eyes from The Dollar Tree, balloon strings stitched from my sewing machine (after dusting it off :-).

Paper Scrap Pie Charts

Using pieces of pretty scraps is such a good idea. If you look at this card, the scraps may look familiar ~ yup, they are the pieces I had to cut off my first card  made for this challenge.  I watched Melissa cut off and throw away her pieces of left overs,  I had larger pieces and couldn't bear throwing them in the trash  :-O
I think I have a problem!!
