MFW - Get Inspired the Pot Pourrie Challenge
OK, I lied this is my last post of the weekend :o)
Here is where you will find Cath's post ~ I'm on my way over to check out the always-fabulous entries:http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/11/card-creations-get-inspired-week-pot.html
I instantly thought of the word "Reflect" when I saw this image on this MFW~Get Inspired Challenge...the "R" monogram, the old fashioned furnishings, the doilies my Grandma used to crochet, the sepia coloring ~ all reminders to "Reflect on the Past".
So, this is what I came up with for a Birthday card ~ and, yes, I do have someone in mind for this one, but won't reveal his name, cause his birthday is a few months away :)
My card ~
I tried to capture the last bit of daylight outside and I think it's staying light a tad longer ~ YAY!
No stamps used here. The words were printed in dark grey (although it looks blue in the photo) from my computer in different fonts and the binoculars and eyeglasses are Rub-Ons from Michael's $1.00 Spot
Card stock: Smokey Blue base card, white and black are from DCWV
Thank you for visiting me ~ I can't tell you enough how I appreciate your comments. This is such a great way to meet new bloggers, donchya think? :o)

MFW - Get Inspired by fashion
Card Inspirations has a beautiful cover this month, but if that isn't enough, MFW has provided a couple of photos and cards from this issue to inspire us even more. Check this one out:
http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2011/11/card-creations-get-inspired-week-get.html
I love the jacket's soft color, all I could find in my PP with the herringbone print was black and white , but I have this pretty damask print in green and cream and decided, this would be my inspiration. The lacy border under the tree is my "texture" and my tree top has a brooch-like look to it ~ dontchya think?
My card ~
Cardstock: Base card is Vintage Cream by PTI, Damask PP is a note card from Gartner Studios
Embellishments: Glitter Tree is a Christmas gift tag from Home Elements picked up at Walgreens; Button, lacy trim from my stash
MFW - Get Inspired Home Decor
This post is for Card Creations Get Inspired week at Moxie Fab World.
The Globe was my inspiration :o)

MFW Tuesday Trigger - Partridge in a Pear Tree
Well here I am once again with my last post of the weekend.
The Tuesday Trigger this week has the most elegant color combination that I used as my inspiration for my card. The layered feathers also captured my attention ~ thus, the border punches ;-p
I love the pillow from Crate & Barrel and would really like to copy this exact image onto a Christmas card, but neither a Partridge nor a Pear Tree do I have in my collection of stamps~
My Card ~ click on the photo for a more detailed view
Cardstock: White base card from PTI; grey and pale blue are paint chips from Lowe's
Stamp: Corner Flower is Sudio g from Michael's $1.00 bin
Ink: Black is StazOn
Tools: Happy Birthday, Arch Lattice and Cornice border punches are all Martha Stewart
Don't know why, but I struggle with CAS and this card had many different faces ~ and still may 'change' more before it gets into an envelope :o)

Make it Monday #45 Coloring embossed images with Copics
This is a quick post to enter Make It Monday's challenge. This week Lisa Johnson has created a pretty card using white powder embossing on a beautiful stamp image and coloring it with Copics.
Check the video here: http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2011/12/-make-it-monday-45-coloring-embossed-images-with-copics-1.html
Of course, I am late mailing this card, so it had to be done quickly. I like this technique and will try it again (maybe even in time for another post to MIM before the deadline :)
My Card~

Stamp: flower from Stampin UP
Ink: Embossing ink from Big & bossy from Ranger; White embossing powder from PSX; green, pink, yellow coloring done with TomBow markers
Tools: Banner Border die is from PTI
Embellishments: flowers from my (huge) stash

Make it Monday #44- Glitter Masking
Now I love me the glitter and bling, so don't get me wrong here...this was a messy "process" and don't think I will be trying this new-to-me technique anytime soon :(
I really like a lot of the entries for MIM this week and thought I would try this... I wasn't happy with the results and kept tweaking the card, which was taking the glitter off.... ohhhh noooo!
Jennifer's version makes this look easy~unfortunately, not in my Craft Room :o) And to add insult to injury, I had to take the photo in poor lighting cause it is not pitch black outside.
Check out the video and the other crafter's posts this week:

My Card~ click on the image for more details - if you care to :^{

Stamps: tree is an old Martha Stewart , Sentiment "Blessings" from Fall Elegance by PTI
Die/Punch: The "skirt" under the tree is from Banner Borders by PTI; corner rounder from Ek Success
Glitter: Gold and Green from Studio G at Michael's; Pearls on the tree also from Michael's
No, not my best card, but had to give it a go anyway. Thanks for stopping by!
