PTI - April Blog Hop
For the month of April the PTI focus is on fun florals, damasks
& polka dots and a fun color scheme. The inspiration piece's color scheme, pink roses, daisies and a few of the pattern combinations inspired my creation.

PS: Thank you for stopping by my blog. I find the "new" changes to Blog Spot a challenge sometimes :(
When do they make these changes? In the middle of the night?
Not being the most techy person out here, it took me quite a while to post this and I sure hope the comment double password thingy is NOT on, please let me know and I will try to turn that off.

MIM #62 - Step It Up Layering
Here it is...my Make It Monday post on Sunday evening :)
I made two cards for this week's MIM, trying to copy the video by Betsy Veldman~ HA! Not quite up to Betsy yet :), however with lots of practice I may just get this technique? I think I could have added a few more layers on the second card and may just do that before mailing it out.
If you would like to play along, check it out here:

I wish I had three little birds like the one in the inspiration photo. But, I don't so I went with Two little birds and a flower :) I tried to duplicate the layout by stacking my images and also came close to the beautiful colors from the photo (although my colors do not show as well).

MIM #61- Creating flowers with leaf dies
Spent last week in MA visiting my family and and a friend and missed a couple of blog challenges. I love making the cards I need from these wonderful blog inspired challenges...it really pushes me to get these cards done each week ~ usually, at the last minute :o)
I made this card to join in the new Make It Monday-'creating flowers with leaf dies' at Papertrey Ink this week. Check out Dawn's video here:
http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/2012/04/make-it-monday-61.html
I don't have any leaf dies, but I used a Martha Steward 'Rose Leaf" punch (see the extras on the bottom of the photo) and kinda like the flower created with it. I punched 16 leaves out of card stock that was embossed with Cuttlebug folders. Cut out a round disk and used score tape to adhere the leaves in two layers.
My Card ~ click on the photo for a more detailed look
Cardstock: Basecard and stamped on panel are Stamper's Select White from PTI; green panel and lavender 'flower' is Recollections; patterned paper is from Pressed Petals paper pack;
Stamps: Fancy Flourish from PTI, sentiment from my computer
Tools and Embellies: Rose Leaf Punch is Martha Stewart; square bling is from Crafter's Square, Cuttlebug embossing folders used on 'flower petals'
Thank you for stopping by ~ you are so appreciated :o)

MFW-TT Happy Happy Joy Joy and MIM #59
One card Two challenges:
For Moxie Fab World's- Tuesday Trigger this week the inspiration photo shows cookie tins with patterns that reminded me of this Martha Stewart "Heart and Flower" stamp set that hasn't seen any ink yet.
Haven't had the change to check out all the entries yet, but plan to visit some tonight here:
http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2012/03/tuesday-trigger-happy-happy-joy-joy.html
The colors and flowers on the bottom tin are what I was duplicating with my card.
My Card ~ click on the photo for more details
First I stamped the PTI White base card with the medium size image (the tulip and circles are all one stamp) to create my background and used my corner rounder on the top and bottom edges.
Next I used my computer on the yellow card stock to create my sentiment. I then ran my PTI Banner Border die over the sentiment (see the MIM video)
http://nicholeheady.typepad.com/capture_the_moment/
The next step was to tape the banner to the front, I added a brown satin ribbon to the side. The leaf was a bit of an afterthought, but it was just to plain and needed "something" (?) I was headed for some bling or pearls, however this card is supposed to be for a man...hope it's masculine enough :o)
Hope you had a great weekend, thanks so much for stopping by
