Make It Monday #153: Watercolored Backgrounds With Heat Embossed Sentiments

 I will try to get an outside photo tomorrow because this card is prettier than this picture shows...but it's after 11:00 PM, the lighting in my craft room does not show it's true colors.

The 'Birds on a Wire' stamp  and the flower image from PTI's Spiral Bouquet stamp set were embossed with white powder onto the green watercolored background on Stamper's Select White card stock. the print paper underneath has the same green as does the jute twine tied onto a button and glued on the sparkly sun burst.

I LOVE the Rosie Posie stamp set and just received my Rosie Posie Step 2, it gives the flowers so much depth. You are going to see lots (more)  cards using these stamps...I am apologizing in advance ;-)

I added some watercolored strokes in the background and embossed the "Happy Birthday" sentiment, so I am entering this card in Make It Monday' Challenge also.

I send a bunch of cards to my family and friends in the North East when their weather starts to break into Spring-like temps.  I think this year I will be sending more than usual because of the very severe winter.

Although the colors are not really true to life in this inside night time photo of my card, you can actually see the Fancy Flourishes stamped in white Pigment ink under the Rosie Posies on this one ~ yay!

Layering Dye and Pigment Inks

You can see Heather's video for what this technique is supposed to look like.  I stamped Fancy Flourishes in white pigment ink (which you can see in person, but not so much in this photo).  The flourishes are definitely peeking through the Rosie Posie flowers stamped in blue dye ink and also in their leaves.

Layering Dye and Pigment Inks

You can see Heather's Video HERE as she mixes and matches ink types to get a very neat effect on her project. 

It's not too late for an "old dog to learn new tricks", so I am giving this new (to me) technique a try ;-)

I used a Script stamp inked in White pigment ink, but it doesn't show up in this photo, maybe I should re-take it outside to see if that works better?

The Rosie Posie and sentiment were stamped with dye inks onto a Stamper's Select White cardstock panel.

Create a Monthly Moments trading card (3x4).  This card should be flat (not folded).  Stamp, embellish or alter your card 

and you must use at least one Papertrey product.

This is a GREAT way to make quick and easy card fronts, plus use up all those 3D Stickers and Die cuts I've been hoarding
