Moxie Fab World-Fun with Floss & EBTKS Challenge #10 Fabric
Okay, sometimes it just pays to be a "last minute" challenge addict :-P
I have been messing around with this card for waaaay too many days cause it involved using embroidery floss which I don't have~yeah, I know, how could I not have that!? Had to go to the Fabric store and buy some. No clue what the heck I was going to do with it on a card, I ended up buying eight different colors of those little (what, scanes?). Now I'm all set to create many many more cards with floss! After playing around and wasting a few yards of this stuff, finally thought I should be embroidering on fabric so, I stamped a piece of scrap with that cute little blue bird stamp (which was the cute yellow chick stamp for last week's Tuesday Trigger card :o) I used the purple floss to outline the bird and yellow floss for his feet and beak~but the beak had two parts and I had just about been over this project ... so I pulled the last piece of floss through the front and colored it orange to make it look like the bird was bringing a worm to the party :^)
Before I posted this, I remembered Everything But The Kitchen Sink's Challenge was to incorporate "something around the house" this week~~what are the odds, the "something" would be fabric, huh? Well, it is (whoot whoot!) and here's my entry for that challenge too.
My Card ~
Card stock: White base and panel from Georgia Pacific; striped and blue from Basic Grey
Stamps: "Party" from See D's "Card Wishes"; Bird is from Michael's $1 bin
Tools: "Happy Birthday" embossing folder from Cuttlebug; "Thredding Water" border punch from Fiscar's, Party Hat from McGill punch
Embellishments: Floss from Hancock Fabrics; Glitter Brad and tag from Target; Yellow satin ribbon from Michael's
Moxie Fab - Tuesday Trigger & Olympics of Stamping
This week's Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World is taken straight from the current issue of Stamp It Magazine by Super Stamper Kim Hughes. Check out all the wonderful inspiration there http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/02/tuesday-trigger-inspiration-straight.html
Plus The Olympics of Stamping is going on also. I thought I would enter this card in the "Thank You" category for that challenge too.
http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/02/stamp-it-cards-week-hop-your-way-to.html
I needed a Thank You card for a sweet friend and was totally inspired by the beautiful color combination of yellow, kraft and black. I played around with this design and finally decided on this one. I made my background paper by stamping my single Damask design stamp six times in yellow ink on white card stock. I then scored a line down the center and two lines between each set of two designs. The "Thank You" stamp was inked onto a solid yellow card and cut with a scallop trimmer, then the ribbon was threaded thru two small punched holes...those teeny tiny pearls are separate and they were very carefully :) glued on the bottom. I was pleased with the outcome ~~ what do you think?

some FUN from Kim Hughes
OK, one last fast post for this evening.
Kim Hughes has a challenge at http://paperhugs.typepad.com/paper_hugs/ . The deadline is tonight at midnight and the challenge is to go to papercrafts connection blog and pick anything there as inspiration for a card and she wants you to mail it to someone. I love the colors and gorgeous cards ~ especially the very talented Debbie Olson's beautiful "Gifts of Spring", on the cover of this month's Paper Crafts Magazine so that was my inspiration for this card I am sending to my friend up North on the first day of Spring!
Sorry the photo is not great, my lighting is not good at night in my craft room...if you click on the picture, you can see the detail a little better.

Moxie Fab - Tuesday Trigger -Youv'e Been Pinked
Happy Valentine's Day to ya...
Hope you are having a SWEET Heart of a Day!
I am adding this post to MFW's Tuesday Trigger which is inspired by the beautiful pink, red and white goodies in the photo submitted by Julie Masse. Guess the candy in the picture inspired me the most, so I went with a sweet treat of a strawberry frosting cupcake on pink cardstock, with a pink ribbon tied in a knot instead of a bow~~thinking this would be okay for a masculine card~~maybe not :oP
My Card~
Cardstock: Pink base from American Crafts
Stamp: Inque Boutique's Party Cupcakes inked on white and mauve card stock and cut out
Embellishments: Red Stickles on the cherry, Copper Stickles on the sprinkes; Mauve satin ribbon (scrap piece from my stash); heart shaped paper clip from my local Craft Store

Moxie Fab - Let's Get Sassy
This is my second card inspired by the Sassy Miss Anne Taintor. As I said on my first post for MFW's Challenge, I found these wonderful magazines "Reminisce" at my local library and the photos are just screaming out for me to make more of these funny cards ~ soooo, here's number two.

Papertrey Ink Birthday Bash - Make your own embellishments
Happy Saturday everyone! Hope your weekend is going well and you have some fun scheduled in there. I finished a couple of cards today and wanted to share my idea of "fun" :^P
Today is Day 13 at Papertrey Ink's Birthday Celebration. Of course, Nicole has a challenge in honor of the two new sets of stamps she introduced today. It is to design some type of floral embellishment. It can be as simple or as detailed as you like. After you decide what your design will be, create a card using it AND one acetate sheet of 4-6 of the embellishments to send to/share with a special stamping friend! Great idea, huh?
My card embellishment is a daisy punched flower using scraps of many different DP. I tried using more than 4 punches on each flower, but couldn't get it to look right cause I want to see the colors of each layer. I left the base flat and curled up the edges of each additional flower placed on top and fastened in the center with a flower brad. I made six more embellies in various color schemes and also intend to include a bunch of punched out daisy petals so she can put them together with different centers. Click on the photos for more detailed image and thanks so much for stopping by today.
My card ~
Card stock: Base card is Basic Grey; patterned prints are from Colorbox and CRMarkings; flower patterned and solid papers are from my scraps stash
Embellishments: Pastel and Bright Flower brads from Paper Studio; Metallic lavender ribbon from Celebrate it
Tools: Corner rounder from EKSuccess; 2" Daisy punch from McGill (a gift from my Crafty Friend:)

Papertrey Ink Birthday Bash - Oragami
Oh WOW! The fun just never stops over at Papertrey Ink's Anniversary Celebration...
Today's contest is to create a card or project using Origami. OK~ no problemo, right? Hmmmm... Nicole included several sites on the web to refer to for instructions for those of you who have the dexterity and patience to play along today.
I tried several "simple designs" and ended up tossing lots and lots of paper in my recycle bin.
This is the card I ultimately came up with.
Now, I know, no one would evahhh paint their house like this or have heart shaped windows,
but I was going with my inner artist here :O)
Love my new MS "Grass" edge punch and I punched out two different colored greens then attached them to the bottom of the card, making it look like grass in the front and in the backyard of my little house. I am sure I will find more exciting ways to use it once I have the time to play around. Click on the photo for more detail, the door is open so come on in for a cup of tea. Thanks for looking!

Papertrey Ink - DT Color Challenge
For my third card at Papertrey Ink's Color Challenge today I used Michelle's favorite combo...I am sure this combo will be used again~these colors are really pretty together.
This one came out a bit more masculine, so I think it will work on one of my "guy" birthday cards.
OOPS! When I uploaded this photo to Mr Linky, I forgot to change "Lisa's Colors" to "Michelle's Colors" next to my name....anybody know how to correct that OR does it really matter??

I also used her free down load image on my card. This is so great, I am getting so many of my "calendar scheduled" events covered with this month's card challenges. Thanks, PTI!!

Good morning everyone! Did you stay up late last night watching Super Bowl?

Moxie Fab - Let's Get Sassy
Check out the Moxie Fab World's column that features Anne Taintor-style cards. http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/01/lets-get-sassy-taintor-tude-challenge.html To participate in Cath's Let's Get Sassy: The Taintor-tude Challenge on her blog. Upload/link your cards by Feb. 15 to get in on the fun.
My local library has a section where you can donate and/or take magazines. I always donate my magazines (except my Craft mags :) after reading them and always look to see if there is anything there that I would be interested in, then usually re-donate them. Well, the other day I found a couple of issues of "Reminisce". It's a "Magazine that brings back the good times". This mag is made up of photos that people send in with the 'story' attached. I'm too young (thankfully :) to remember a lot of the subjects, but recognized some from my parents and grandparents old photos. I thought this pictures would be perfect for the challenge (always thinking of card making-LOL). I picked one of Anne Taintor's "Favorite Captions" from her website. So here's my entry~
