MIM #264

 MAKE IT MONDAY

Die-Cut Stencil Shapes

This week on MIM, I am joining Melissa Phillips as she demonstrates how to create beautiful stencil effects with our dies.
Melissa has such a lovely style and the cards she makes are always so inspiring.
In this video, we learn how to get even more mileage out of our paper crafting supplies with an easy technique!  Check it out HERE.

 My Card ~
I made a stencil out of my PTI Cover Plate: Butterfly by cutting out the smallest butterfly die. Instead of using a paper towel, I used my Mini Ink Blending tool and dabbed it into each ink color for my background.
The Peony On Parade flower and leaves were die cut and stamped with Black ink, The center of the flower is embossed with black powder.  I was going to color it in, but decided at the last minute to leave it as is and just pop it onto the butterfly panel.
My original thought (which I totally forgot!) was to cut a Black cardstock panel instead of the Aqua for a bit more drama ... I may do that with the next card :-)
