This is the lovely inspiration photo for the July 2017 Blog Hop.

There are beautiful soft blues, grays and a touch of antique gold, seam binding, water-colored leaves, vintage florals and faux postage....oh so many lovely elements we can select from to create a project. 

For my dear friends 45th Anniversary card, I chose the blue/white color scheme, leaves, flowers and postage stamp :-)

Create Along With PTI - July 2017

Create Along With Us challenge at Papertrey Ink allows us to select a card  one of the amazing Disign Team Members has created during the July Release that inspired you.  We can then create our own version of their project...so awesome!

My card ~
I tried to duplicate the colors Heather used and her beautiful design and used my Song Bird stamps/dies. I do love the larger sized bird and branch in this new "Give Love" set. :-)
This will be a birthday card for my friend who is an amazing photographer and bird watcher.

Combining Stenciling and Masking

Betsy is hosting this week's MIM challenge, combining two classic techniques ~ stenciling and masking, for a striking one-layer effect.

I probably could have used a smaller frame stencil for this stamp set(?)  In my head, I thought I would use leaves and flowers for this technique...
Okay, I will just have to do that on the next card. 😁

Building Wreaths With Small Images

Okay, Lizzie is up on MIM this week and she is demonstrating how easy it is to create a stamped wreath using small flowers, leaves, and accents. You can watch her video and see her sweet card HERE.  

I typically don't like pulling out a bunch of stamps to use this technique, mainly because I don't clean and put back the stamps I use immediately after using them.
I know! Gasp, right😱!  

Well, on the other hand, it's hard for me to NOT join in the MIM challenges ~ so here is my card.

Most of the flowers are from Song Birds stamped onto Stamper's Select White cardstock.  The base card is embossed with Cuttlebug's 'Divine Swirl'.

I made this card for a dear friend who's birthday is in July! 
I just love the expression of the little crab holding up the 'celebrate' sign ~ I think that same expression will be on my friend's face because it's a big "6-Oh" birthday!
