MIM #114

Make It Monday #114 ~ Blown Ink Challenge

This week, Dawn McVey has a video how to showing us a new-to-me technique.  I've seen it before, but never tried it myself, so this challenge is the perfect opportunity, right?  I liked the way Dawn started all of the paint blowing from one side of the panel, then covered it up with layers and her sentiment, so I kinda copied her layout.

My Card ~
I used Glimmer Mist because I only have one re-inker and I thought this technique really lends itself to more than one color being blown around on the cardstock :)

Cardstock:  Card base and panel are Stamper's Select White by PTI; the Aqua, Green Apple and Teal are from Michael's

Tools/Dies:  Beautiful Butterflies from PTI; Scalloped and Smaller Circle punches from Marvy; Birds & Swirls embossing folder by Cuttlebug
Glimmer Inks:  Granite from Tattered Angels : Green and Teal from Ditto
Embellishments:  bling from Studio G; the flower is a 3-D sticker from Special Moments ~ can you see a sequin on the leaf?

  1. Helen, so pretty. This was a new technique for me too and so out of my style of card making.

  2. Beautiful results,Helen. Great center flower, and yes, can see the sweet sequin.

  3. Great idea to use glimmer mist! This turned out beautifully!

  4. Very pretty. Great color combinations of glimmer mist. i too used the Glimmer Mists. it was somuch easier to move it around the card vs ink.

  5. I am LOVING your Cute card!! Such a FUN take on the Challenge!! THANKS for sharing and have a FABULOUS WEEK!! =)
