MIM #169

MAKE IT MONDAY
COMBINING CHALK AND STAMPS WITH IMPRESSION PLATES

This week Melissa is working her creative genius with a combo of chalk, stamps and impression plates ~ see her video HERE

Well, friends, this challenge is timed perfectly. In the very beginning of my crafty time, I used chalk as a medium for most of my cards and, while it is true, that I too have moved on to markers, colored pencils, paints and inks, I just happened to have my chalks out on my desk today!  I was making a special card for a friend who requested Hydrangea flowers and  I STILL love coloring my (very old) wood block flower stamps with ... yep, you guessed it ... chalks  :-)

My Hydrangea stamp is not PTI and the small petals would not have shown through the chalked embossed chevron design, so I used Rosie Posie flowers on this card.
I am going to attempt posting another card to MIM #169.
Wish me luck ~ if I have trouble with entering a second card, I'll add a separate post (like my so-not-techy-self always does :)

The chalk was applied heavier on this card and the butterfly really captures the embossed CS~which I think  is a cool effect.

  4. Another awesome card, Helen, I like the bright yellow..so cherry and the hello just pops out at you! I have the most excellent directions for posting a second card using one blog post. Darnell (http://www.djkardkreations.com/ ) helped me out with it, I would be happy to send you the same instructions she sent me! You just need to sign up for Flickr, but it is super easy!...colleen57and5@hotmail.com
