CHALLENGE #17

I am joining this week's Transformation Tuesday challenge with
Lexi Daly as she takes her box card from Stamp-A-Faire and transforms it with hashtags and emojis!

I wanted this sympathy card to look a little 'softer' and by changing out the turquoise panel  with a white one and replacing the green leaves with grey ~ oh and I did add a touch of Wink of Stella to the Rosie Posie,  I think I accomplished my mission.

SAF 2018 - Garden Journal

The Challenge:
Create a journal project.  You can choose to re-create the exact project from Heather's video or design your own using the same concepts. 

My journal will be a gift for a friend who loves her garden.  
She can write on the pretty flower themed pages or paste photos of the posies she plants from the seeds I will send along with the journal.

SAF 2018 - Pop Up Card

The Challenge:
Create a pop-up card project.  You can choose to re-create the exact project from Lexi's video or design your own using the same concepts. 

Oh my, what a cute project!  I didn't think I would have the time to make this sweet little pop up garden and the photo was taken on my patio in the dark of night 😄 but, here it is. 
I will definitely try this again~ Thanks Lexi for this fun technique for a card and your awesome How-To video! 
I used the die cut flowers from Song Birds and the grass is Martha Stewart's punch.  The hello is from Swoosh and those 3-D butterflies are stickers.

SAF 2018 - Felt Flower Project

The Challenge: 
Create a felt flower project.  You can choose to re-create the exact project from Lizzie's video or design your own using the same concepts. 

I don't have any of the flower or leaf dies Lizzie used to make her lovely felt flower wreath with, so I improvised by cutting some simple felt flowers/leaves form my glittery Butterflies from the Cover Plate:Butterfly to flutter around.  😊

Glitter Inlays

 Had to use my Song Bird 😉 perched on top of the Branching Out leaves which are set on the 'Musical Notes' die cut from Darice.  
I backed the music notes with sticky paper like  Lexi showed us in her video HERE.  The glittery sparkley powder is pretty in real life, but it's cloudy and getting ready to rain at my house, so my photo doesn't reflect that well.

SAF 2018 - Plant Your Garden

The Challenge:

I made my own leaf stencil with Gran's Garden leaves and mixed blue and yellow inks to daub onto my card base for 1 color.  My die cut Brushed Blooms make up 6 colors and the Song Bird leaves die cut from brown card stock equal my 8th color here for Dawn's fun  "out-of-my-comfort-color-box" challenge.😁 
Actually, it's always wonderful to get the chance to CASE anything Dawn creates!

Oh how I love Betsy's cards and isn't the SAF Poppy flower beautiful?   She has water-coloring down to PERFECTION! 

Always love the look that watercolor artists create and it sure was fun to try my hand at this lovely technique...
I need to take a few classes OR perhaps watch some of my very talented Blogland friends as you paint like the Masters!

My paper is pretty plain as I didn't make 'plantable' paper which I think would be a fun project for another time. Colored cardstock and flower petals will also be a pretty addition, eh?

I had to use colorful dies from Song Birds and those glitzy flowers to create a bit of interest. 😊

I am joining this week's Transformation Tuesday challenge with 
Laurie Schmidlin as she takes a card that she felt didn’t measure up and make the main image shine. She changed up some of the colors and now the image takes center stage. You can see her video and both of her beautiful cards HERE.

I love this challenge and I have a few cards I've made that I feel aren't quite as 'amazing' as they were while still in my head
~ so having the opportunity for a do-over is PERFECT for me 😉

I made this card a few years ago, but never felt it had quite enough   color contrast.  I added Wink of Stella to the flower petals along with some Paprika Stickles, the happy birthday die, different  patterned paper and cream card stock as my base.

Layering Patterns Over Images

It is always a treat to see Dawn McVey with her MIM challenges.  I'm joining her this week as she shares a fun way to add interest and the look of texture to card projects.

My Stamps:  Rosie Posie and Biased Stripe is my pattern overlay
Cardstock:  Stamper's Select White and Blush 110# for base-card

I wasn't sure about this technique and how my card would turn out.  Well...truth be told, Dawn's amazing 'works of art' totally intimidate me and at the same time inspire me to branch out and try new things 😳

But, her it is and I really love this card ~ just wish I had done a few at the same time like Dawn instructed in her video!!

 

Create Along With Us - August 2018

I am always motivated and inspired by the many challenges out there, but have to say this is one of my favorites from PTI!  
You can select a card/project that the amazing Design Team has created during the monthly release that has inspired you, and create your own version.  You could use a color scheme, a technique, revisit an older stamp set or ink up a newly purchased one 💓

Need a welcome baby card for a sweet little girl who was born while I was away, not sure I like all the white space 😏 or the color combo (pastels are my comfort zone) on this one, but I really liked the Petite Pattern technique Michelle showed us so here it is.

The transformed card has the same Rosie Posie stampset (adding 
 to the flower choice) and thank you die instead of the happy birthday, I changed up the color scheme, dies, plus added a few  sequins.  This re-make card appeals to me much more and I have just the friend in mind to receive this card. 😀

Sorry  for the bad lighting, it is 3:00 AM and I just got home from a 6 day trip.  Finished this card before I left but, didn't have time to post it.   :-l

The corner die cut from white cardstock under the bird and happy birthday is a thinlet from Tim Holtz 4-piece set

 

Creative With Stamps

Well here we are ~ it is August 1st and more than half of the year is gone.  WOW, time really does fly when you are having fun! 😉
There is one fun thing that happens on the 1st of each new month, Creative With Stamps has a new challenge for you.
For this month's challenge, we are looking for cards with a Father theme image.  Sadly all of the amazing dads in my family are gone, but certainly not forgotten! 

I made this card for my dear friend's son who is just the 
"Best Dad Ever" to her three adorable grandchildren.
