MIM #109 - Watercolor and Embossing

This is another masculine Birthday card  using the Make It Monday technique shown HERE .

PTI products:
Cardstock ~  Stamper's Select White
Stamps ~ Spriral Bouquet and Beautiful Butterflies

I added Tattered Angels' Pomegranate glimmer mist to the Ditto turquoise and green instead of re-inkers for the solid flower stamp and stamped over the outline stamps with white embossing powder.
The patterned paper (kinda looks like a water-colored design) panel underneath is from K&Company.I added the brownish/greenish ribbon, but still think it's masculine enough.

MIM #109

Hope you all had a Blessed Easter

This week's Make It Monday#109 is
 "Watercolor Stamping Plus Embossing"

Take a look at Betsy Veldman's video HERE  What a beautiful card she created I was always interested in learning to paint with watercolors and love to see card makers using this technique,
so I was inspired to give it a try :)

 PTI Products:
Cardstock-Stamper's Select White
Stamps-Spriral Bouquet; Beautiful Butterflies

The aqua, brown, raspberry patterned print paper is from BoBunny

I tried to keep this card a little on the masculine side, so there is no bling, glitter, sequins, buttons or fluffy bows  :)

I used Ditto turquoise and green glimmer spray spritzed with water instead of re-inkers for my water-color effect. Stamped over the image with the outline of these flowers and leaves, then embossed with white powder over black emossing ink ~ some of the black came through, some shows as white... I think it looks cool, so I left it that way  :)

PTI - Blog Hop March 2013

Well, at least I'm getting a couple of my Easter cards done this the PTI March Blog Hop:)

I promise to get around to see all of the beautiful cards posted shortly.  I found some small gold sequins in my sewing room, not sure what I had in mind for this twisted strand of gold twine and sequins on black ribbon, but seeing as it's not been used by now, those little guys may as well adorn a card or two, eh?

PTI - March Blog Hop

I started to make this card last week, but put it aside because I thought it need "a little something more".  Not quite sure sequins are the magic here, but it's another entry for  the  Papertrey Ink March 2013  Blog Hop

PTI March Blog Hop March 2013

Time for another Papertrey Ink Blog Hop!
This is the challenge (copied from Nicole's Blog) from PTI for March 2013:

Sequins are popping up everywhere on paper crafting projects and now's your chance to try out this new trend!  With the variety of colors and shapes available, the sky is the limit with the creative possibilities!  Use them to accent the centers of flowers, add them as borders, fill shakers, or create random splashes of sparkle.

I didn't have any sequins in my stash (that I remembered), so the other day I stopped at WalMart and found a roll (like ribbon) of pretty raspberry colored in their Fabric Dept.  Not sure how much I would use this trendy little-hard-to-glue-on-cards embellishment,
I only purchased one yard. It was on sale for .57   :)

PTI products:
Rosie Posie stamps

I heat embossed the Daisy flower and also the Stampin Up flowers, used the die cut leaves and cut a slit in one of the petals, the center of the daisy is stamped with terra cotta and yellow ink, and the other flower centers are sequins.

This card is a 3fer.  Yep, I am entering in three challenges. Whooo Hooo! (well, for me anyway :) That's about the max I can handle, it's just too confusing for me wee brain.
I am in total AWE of those of you who enter 10+ challenges out there!

I had to take the photo inside, as you can see on my window it's raining~we actually had a tornado warning in this area, it was very windy, thunder and lightning and lots of heavy rain...for which my lawn is so thankful for.

PTI products used~
Stamps:  Spiral Bouquet; Beautiful Butterflies
Cardstock:  Stamper's Select White

My Base card is Kraft which I sponged with 3 different shades of pink ink over the white heat embossed flowers. The sentiment was stamped onto  the sponged card in black ink.  The negative frame is from Nestiabilities Labels 8 which I cut out of a Cuttlebug folder embossed piece of white cardstock. The pearls were added as an afterthought, cause it just needed a little something :)

Thanks so much for stopping by!

MFW-Chevron

Happy Friday!  Hope your weather is getting more Spring-like everyday.

I finally joined in on the fun at Moxie Fab World's - Card Creations Week this card is for The Chevron Challenge

This is the largest of my owl stamps, Which I fussy cut out and popped up with mounting tape...even his googly eyes are bigger than my other owlies :)  The party hat is just the right size for him.  His perch is from a vine I've had for so many years now I can't remember why I bought it ~ may have been some crafty arrangement for the mantel??  Anywho, I've been cutting it and creating tree limbs on cards for my fine feathered friends, so it's getting used slowly by surely.
The chevron patterned paper is glued onto a 5x5 inch square card, the glittery BIRTHDAY banner is strung onto a piece of Baker's Twine and tied around brown brads from Making Memories

Thanks for stopping by ~ I plan to spend several hours catching up with you this weekend to check out your fabulous cards for these challenges.

MFW - Card Creations Week

Moxie Fab World continues Card Creations Week with The Ombre Challenge.

I made another owl card for this one.  The background stamp "Star Bright" from Stampabilites is inked with three shades of green to create the ombre effect.   The owl  has been fussy cut out and popped onto the die cut glittery leaf with thick mounting tape. I cut a slit in his wing so I could tuck the heart balloon string there.  His googly eyes have some eyelash yarn glued behind them, of course    ;^)

I really appreciate you taking the time to stop by!

MIM#108 and MFW-Speech Bubble

Make It Monday #108 - Inked Backgrounds Challenge.
Watch Heather's video to create a background for your cards.
This is another one of those challenges that requires more practice on my part.  I tried sponging a couple of different greens and blues onto white cardstock, but didn't get quite the same effect Heather did. Yes... more practice for me ;)

Moxie Fab World-Card Creations Week~The Speech Bubble
is the second challenge I am entering this birthday card in.

MIM #107

Here's another Clear Card I made for Make It Monday #107
Clear card & Copic Coloring Challenge.

I printed the greeting on yellow cardstock and backed it with aqua, which is opposite of the front panels

My Card~
I cut another banner for this card, thinking "I really should order the new set Bountiful Banners" introduced this month.  :)
I also love Rosie Posie Step 2 stamp set in the March Release~although I am kinda getting the hang of two-tone
stamping.

Clear cardstock for my base card; Yellow and Aqua panels from Recollections

MIM #107-Clear Card

There is another great challenge this week at Papertrey Ink.

Nicole's video shows us how to make a card on clear cardstock. She used her Copic Markers to color in her images, but said we could use whatever color medium we wanted.
I have never made a clear card before, but it's a Make It Monday Challenge ~ so how could I NOT try it? ;-)

My card has a few extra layers, I liked the colors of the three panels under the stamped images.
Love the new PTI Bountiful Banners coming this month, so I made my own, stamped Happy Birthday and folded under each side propping the center up.
Used my computer to print a personal note on one of the inside panels and a handwritten message on the back of the front cover.
I tried perfecting the two-toned stamping on my images :), popping the flowers up with mounting squares and glued the leaves down flat curling the edges up a bit.

( had to blur up the inside, just in case my friend who is getting this is peeking in)

Stamps:  Rosie Posie by PTI;  Happy Birthday from Die-namics
Dies:      Rosie Posie by PTI
Cardstock and blingy gems from Recollections

MIM #106-Two Toned Stamping

Wasn't really happy with this one, but I decided to post it to the Make It Monday Challenge tonight anyway. Of course it's also dark outside, so this inside photo makes matters a little worse :(
I needed a quick one layer card to get into the mail today and tried the two tone stamping technique on PTI's Beautiful Butterflies. The background is kinda "ombre" using three shades of blue chalk
The Butterflies are stamped in Yellow and Poppy Orange ink on PTI's Stamper's Select White cardstock.
I definitely like this stamping effect on flowers better.

MIM #106

Here is another card for MIM - Two Toned Stamping on Flowers Challenge.  Check it out HERE
I wasn't too sure about this technique at first, but seem to be likin' it a little more each time I try it :)

PTI products used:  Sunflower stamp and leafy stem from Rosie Posie; base card is Stamper's Select White cardstock

The two tones of color on the flower are Yellow and Terra cotta.  The leafy stem is inked in Metallic Champagne  by Tsukineko
I used a razor cutter to outline  half of the flower petals and from the top down one side and curled them out for a little dimension (see the closeup photo below).
wrapped Baker's Twine around the BoBunny patterned paper and tied on an orange button. The sentiment is from Following my Heart by Unity Stamps

For MFW, I die cut a butterfly on the outside of my card where the inside sentiment can show through

For MIM, I inked up the flowers and leaves with two different shades of ink on each image

MIM #106 & MFW

I am entering this Thinking of You card in two challenges today:

Moxie Fab World - Card Creations~Washi Tape Challenge
Each day this week, Cath is challenging us to take the inspiration from this Paper Crafts Issue "Card Creations Volume 11" and create a paper crafted card based on the photos. On Monday we are to  incorporate washi tape (or decorative tape) on a card or project.   Now I have a nice little collection of washi tape and need to start using it :)  So here goes:

Not quite as innovative or interesting as some of the cards posted, but I'm trying ~ hope to get a few more cards done before the deadline on April 1st...cause I definitely need more practice!

The second Challenge for this card is:
Make It Monday #106 - Two Toned Stamped Flowers
Melissa Phillips' video shows how she created a pretty two toned effect on stamped flower images...again, I need more practice!

PTI products used: Rosie Posie stamps and dies
I used two different green inks on the leaves and three colors (yellow, orange and terra cotta) on the flower blooms.

MIM #105 & MFW-Camera Craze

Another card = two challenges:

Moxie Fab World - Camera Craze Challenge has too many inspirational photos for me to copy and pin here, so I have linked it and you can go over to MFW to check out all of the fun photos there for yourself, not only that, but you have until March 11th to enter this challenge --- YAY, I'm not a last-minute-Lucy, like I usually am :)

I am also entering this card in Make It Monday #105 - Glitter Trim challenge.

The PTI products used on this card are:  Stamper's Select White cardstock as my base card and panel my image is stamped on; the Banner Borders die has 5 different shaped banners, so when I cut them and glittered them for this challenge, I have five...maybe I have time to make 3 more Glitter Trim cards before the deadline at 7AM  ;)

Make It Monday #105 and Moxie Fab World

I am sneaking in here with a couple of cards before the MIM #105-Glitter Trim  deadline tonight.

I am also submitting this card to Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger ~Pattern Play  Challenge.

PTI products:  Banner Borders
I used my Xyron to glue up the banner after I cut out the die and sprinkled some lavender iridescent glitter  like Dawn McVey showed us in her video this week...it makes the glitter process a little easier.  I have the same amount of glitter all over the place, but....

Here is the inspiration photo from MFW:
I found a piece of this PP in a BoBunny Mini Pack that I won from Moxie Fab World a couple of years back ~ Thanks, Cath :)
I think it captures the folksy flowers in the photo and the colors are pretty darn close, no?
