Make it Monday #44- Glitter Masking

Now I love me the glitter and bling, so don't get me wrong here...this was a messy "process" and don't think I will be trying this new-to-me technique anytime soon :(

I really like a lot of the entries for MIM this week and thought I would try this... I wasn't happy with the results and kept tweaking the card, which was taking the glitter off.... ohhhh noooo!

Jennifer's version makes this look easy~unfortunately, not in my Craft Room :o) And to add insult to injury, I had to take the photo in poor lighting cause it is not pitch black outside.

Check out the video and the other crafter's posts this week:

Stamps: tree is an old Martha Stewart , Sentiment "Blessings" from Fall Elegance by PTI
Die/Punch: The "skirt" under the tree is from Banner Borders by PTI; corner rounder from Ek Success
Glitter: Gold and Green from Studio G at Michael's; Pearls on the tree also from Michael's

No, not my best card, but had to give it a go anyway. Thanks for stopping by!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger-Snowing Gingerbread

OK, it's November 27th and I am seriously making an effort to create Christmas cards to mail out ON TIME Seriously??? Well, I am going to give it a try :o)

I love this week's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger and had a ton of ideas rolling around in my head .... why don't those transfer to paper in the same way, huh?
I was inspired by the pretty photo ~ the white icing on the (brown) gingerbread "snowflake"cookie, thus the snowflakes falling on the brown snow covered houses :o) You still have time to join in at http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/11/tuesday-trigger-its-snowing-gingerbread.html

My card (click on the photo for more details) ~
I used Kraft card stock for the base and for the strip under the houses; the aqua blue is a textured paper from Zoophabet 2; and the white is from Georgia Pacific.
Stamp: Hero Arts 'Row of Houses'
Punches: Marvey's 'Snowflake' and Martha Stewart's 'Cornice' border punch
Embellishments: Prisma 'White Glitter'; Stickles "Crystal; white foam stars, rhinestones and pop foam (under snowflakes) all from my stash

Thanks so much for stopping by ~ have a wonderful Sunday!

Caardvarks - Winter Wonderland Challenge

Caardvarks has a challenge to create a Winter themed card. You can use a Holiday card, snowmen, snowflakes or whatever reminds you of the Winder season!
You have until August 15th at midnight PST to post your entry ~ and the prize is
A collection of *new* Hero Arts stamps!

This was a welcomed change in our hot hot hot weather to think WINTER for a short time ;O)

My Card: Snowman stamp from"Inkadinkado" is inked with Stampabilities "French Blue" on white cardstock from ACMoore and I distressed ink around the edges. All coloring is with Glitter Gel Pens and the snow is highlighted with Stickles "Icicle" glitter. The top half of the base "Aqua Blue" cardstock is embossed with Cuttlebug's "Swiss Dot", the bottom embossing is "Divine Swirl". The red and kraft twine is from Michael's and the glittery star embellishments are from "Dress It Up". Used my rounder punch from "Marvy" and the "let it snow..." was printed on my PC.

Thanks for stopping by ~ have a good night!
