MIM #122

I made another Make It Monday challenge card.  You can see Heather's video HERE  where she adds polka dots with Copics and colors and blends ~ I find I need to "keep at it" when trying new techniques, and I am usually somewhat happy with the 4th or 5th one :) I added polka dots to the frog with American Crafts Glitter Markers.  The Daisy stamp reminds me of the sun ~ so I stamped it in yellow and added it to my little scene :)

MIM #122-Polka Dot Texture

This week's Make It Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink is to use your Copic Markers for more than coloring and blending.  Heather shows us this polka dot texture technique in her video HERE

I don't have any Copics, so I improvised with my color markers and just dotted up the centers of my sunflowers on this note card  :)

Liebster Blog Award

Paying it Forward . . . Liebster Blog Awards!

My sweet friend Jill Norwood of Greenwood Girl Cards, nominated me for a Liebster Blog Award. Jill let me know in a blog comment last week, which I just found today because I have not been spending as much time on my Blog as usual and missed it ~ thank you so much, Jill!

To accept the award, you need to thank the person who nominated you and link back to their blog.  Post the award on your blog. Give the award to five other bloggers who have less than 200 followers. Write a comment on their blog to let them know they have been nominated.

Here are the five creative bloggers that I am nominating:

Maureen ~      Watermarks Designs
Shay ~            Verdigris Hall
Leigh ~          To The Full
Jen~               JENerally Speaking
Luanne~        He Golfs...I Stamp

I hope you find as much inspiration visiting these fabulous ladies as I do. Time often gets away from me while I am on my cyber journey from blog to blog,  but it is such a fun 'trip' to see the amazing talent and never ending creativity :)

Thanks again, Jill for nominating me!

XOXO, Helen

PTI June Blog Hop

I really need to tweak this card a little more, but for now I'm entering it in the Papertrey Ink June Blog Hop ~ we are challenged to add a Touch of Gold to our project.  I made this Anniversary card "mailable", but I am not used to making one-layer cards and this just seems incomplete to me, I am certain to add a few embellishments before it goes to the P.O.

Click on the photo for more details on my card

PTI products:  Sentiment from Beautiful Butterflies.

I used Hero Arts Cupcakes and heat embossed them in Antique Gold, then I sugar coated the frosting with Martha Stewart glitter, topped each one with a gold glittery star and used a  Martha Stewart border punch with shimmery gold cardstock showing through on the bottom, the matching corner punch in on the top.
The inside sentiment says: "You two were made for each other"  :-)

Papertrey June 2013 Blog Hop

Made another card for the Papertrey - June Blog Hop.
My Touch of Gold is the banner across the bottom punched from gold cardstock and the PTI sentiment from Beautiful Butterflies embossed with Antique Gold Embossing Powder.

You can click on the photo for more a detailed look

Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge ~ Touch of Gold

From Nicole's Blog:
"The challenge is to add a touch of gold to a paper crafted project.  This could be done with gold embossing powder, gold shimmer cardstock, gold glitter, gold metallic pigment powders,  gold metallic pen, gold sequins, gold floss or thread or even gold leaf.  You could even raid your beauty stash and try adapting gold fingernail polish or gold eye shadow to your needs"

On this card, I went with gold metallic cord wrapped around a Rosie Posie stamp and die.  There is also gold Stickles in the center of the flower :)

MFW

Here is my entry for Moxie Fab World's The Tuesday Trigger~Vintage Vagabond.
I really liked the colors, shapes and vintagey feel of this photo, so did quite a few other crafty folks out there, head on over to this feature on Cath's Blog.

I've had this Lock and Key stamp for a while and thought of it when I saw the photo.  I just bought the embossing folder which is called "Patterned Polkas" from The Paper Studio..the polka dots mimic the plates and basket and stripes in the photo  :^)
The black decorative tape is also from The Paper Studio, it has the words "vintage, old, family, friends & memories" ~ fits the bill, no?
The old gold button and hemp cord were added for some dimension.

Here's my card for Make It Monday's Challenge~Colored Vellum Flowers.
You can watch the talented Betsy Veldman's video HERE.

I don't have any PTI flower images that are outlines to create this technique on vellum paper, so I used a Daisy flower and die from Die-Namics which I won in a Giveaway Package from my sweet Blog-Friend, Ally at Laughadaisy

MIM

Hope everyone enjoyed this weekend and had a wonderful Father's Day today.

Here is a quick card I am mailing tomorrow to a friend who is dealing with some changes in her life.

I am entering it in Make It Monday #120 ~ The challenge is Overlapping Ombre.  See Nicole's video HERE

I used the sentiment "Bloom" and stamped it with three different shades of pink and "where you're planted" is a fourth shade. The flowers are stamped in Pearlescent Purple.
The striped patterned paper is from Gypsy by Basic Grey.
Stamps are Spiral Bouquet by PTI.

Thinking the flowers need some pearls or gems in the centers? I'll add a pic if I decide :)

It really creates a pretty effect.

MFW-TT

Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger - All Sweetness & Light is the inspiration for my card today.

Tuesday Trigger photo
I picked out the colors on this beautiful picture and came up with this card:

Sorry about the poor inside photo ~ it's pouring outside, I will try to retake in the AM.

The cardstock is a salmon color and the glittery  chandeliers are peach, aqua blue, raspberry pink. the background paper is shimmery and the there an overlay sheet that I stamped the Miss You! sentiment on. The sofa is stamped onto white cardstock and fussy cut out to be popped up on this panel.
I realized there were no flowers or yellow (predominent color in the TT photo) except for my throw pillow on the sofa, so I added a sheet of yellow polka dot paper and a flower border punch on my inside paper to add a handwritten note  :)

Edited to add re-take of the photo outside this AM ~ still not capturing the softness of these colors in real life  :(

MIM #119

Make It Monday ~ Flagged Borders Challenge. See Dawn McVey's video HERE.
It's a great technique to help use up those scraps laying around on our craft desks ~~ or, am I the only one who's got 'em?

I stamped the "Patterned Bird" onto Kraft cardstock, then again on white card, fussy cut out the body and popped it onto the 'branch'.

MIM #119

Make It Monday Challenge this week is "Flagged Borders"!
Love playing along with these new-to-me-techniques.
You can join in too, check out Dawn's video HERE

Click on the photo for more details

I closely followed Dawn's design, I mean why mess with the "Master"  :)
Seriously, Dawn is so talented, I could only dream of having one ounce of her creative genius!

I mounted my 'flags' and onto Kraft cardstock and border punched a peach colored piece of paper over the tops and over that,  is a strip of  Fancy Pants Designs scalloped border sticker over that.
The "Like It" and  "Love It" flags are from Martha Stewart's Wedding Collection.  I hand cut flags out of PTI small paper scraps (Happy Spots and Tea Leaves) ... Thank goodness I never throw anything away :)

Here is a close up of my flags waving in the breeze.

Thanks so much for stopping by!!

The bird was kinda lost in  the background so I propped him up with a piece of sponge...he really looks like he's in flight from somewhere to check out those flowers now  :o)
side view shows how far off the card this bird is flying

MIM - Photo Postcards

Make It Monday #118 - create a postcard out of your photos challenge is becoming an addiction (you all know what I'm talking about ;)
But, I am increasing my "supply o' cards" with this fast and easy technique, soooo ya gotta love that!   :)

Check out Ashley's video HERE

Click on the photo to see more detail
I used the wrong ink on this glossy paper, it's smudged a bit and it shows as a very light colored :(
I liked the tilted sentiment onto that beautiful peach rose petal, not sure how to correct this smudgy prob (?)
