I have had this sweet Birthday set of stamps from Hampton Arts for... well, let's just say "a loooooonnnng time".
It has such adorable images and I haven't even used 'em all yet (gasp)!
If you notice, one of the googlie eyes on the lion went a little askew ~~ I was planning to replace it, but decided it looks kinda cute this way and I'm leaving it   ;-)

MAKE IT MONDAY CHALLENGE

 STAMPING and MIXING PATTERNS

Danielle Flanders is hosting this week's Make It Monday challenge.  She's sharing her ideas for creating stamped patterned papers and ways to effectively mix and match them, including tips working with scale and using these finished papers on a greeting card. You can see her video HERE.   We are to create a project utilizing at least three stamped patterns.

My three stamped patterns are:

* polka dots in Sky Blue
* diagonal stripes in Grey
* Beautiful Butterflies in Sky Blue, Grey, Lemon Yellow

I think the Musical Notes washi tape could be the 4th pattern :-)

Sorry for the inside night photo, my internet has been down for two days and  it is running on a limited connection tonight. Unfortunately, it will be off again in the morning for~how long??  while the repairmen work on the lines outside.  Didn't want to miss entering my card.

NBUS #4

NBUS - CHALLENGE #4

I am rushing to get this card entered in Darnell's NBUS challange while my internet is up and running.  I had a repairman here today for 10 1/2 hours checking the lines to get my internet working.
Sam (yes, we are on first name basis) said I have limited service tonite and the "problem" is outside, not in my house, so he will be back in the morning for more repairwork. My service went out late morning yesterday just as I was about to enter this card in a couple of challenges  :-o

Darnell's NBUS challenges always draw hundreds of entries (I am so happy to know I am not alone in my crafty obsession of buying too much schtuff) and she has made it her mission to comment on each and every one.  How fabulus is that?
It is no surprise she has 800+ followers for her amaZing blog ~ go HERE and be ready to laugh-out-loud at her humor and be awe-inspired by her beautiful creations.

Thank you, Darnell for all of your hard work in pulling this Challenge together~it delightfully forces me to delve into the mountain of schtuff in my craft room that I can't seem to STOP buying!

I made this card for a friend's birthday (she is a snowbird and really enjoys the tropical weather here), it qualifies for this NBUS:
* The Adirondack chair is one of two dies from Impression Obsession
* The "seagulls" flying overhead are part of  an EK Success corner punch
* I do believe the Large Palm Tree should be included here as well.  It is a wood block stamp I bought at a yard sale for $2.50 about 8 years ago. I'm not sure it was ever used,  if it was, it's been a couple three years (gasp).  It's from All Night Media~are still around?

MAKE IT MONDAY
CONFETTI CLUSTER STAMPING

Lizzie Jones is highlighting a technique called Confetti Cluster Stamping.Check it out for yourself.
Now, truth be told, I am what one might consider a lazy crafter, so this technique is not be one I would normally gravitate to ~
but, I need a Birthday card for a friend from up North and thought the pretty spring colors, butterflies, hearts and flowers I used to fill in my focus outline *image was worth the effort.

* I wasn't quite sure if you could tell what this image is once I erased the pencil outline and thought I should put the question out there for guesses ~ just for fun   :-)

MAKE IT MONDAY
WATERCOLOR SMOOSHING

Betsy Veldman is sharing her tips on how to create the most gorgeous backgrounds that have the look of watercolor, however no watercolor paints are needed. The cool watercolor-look is created with a little ink and water.  Watch her video HERE

This is my first attempt at Smooshing,
I really liked how my card came out when it was CAS.
But, as usual, I couldn't leave well enough alone, started adding schtuff ~ do I need an intervention?  ;-)

Coffee Lovers Spring Hop

I'm back with one more card (?) for the Spring Coffee Lover's Hop .
I might be just a tad obsessed with this adorable Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set,  "Cocoa's Latte".  I fussy cut out the to go cup and sleeve, even fussy cut the little mouse peeking around it. The American Crafts striped paper is die cut with Spellbinders "Big Scalloped Rectangles".
Eeeek, it's official, this is my go-to Birthday card for all of my masculine or feminine coffee/tea/cocoa lovin' friends!  ;-)

MAKE IT MONDAY
DOODLING WITH STAMPS

Ashley  created a card during the February release with what she calls "Doodling" and this week she has a video up showing us how this technique is done.  You can watch it HERE.

I found myself thinking, "What have I done to my beautiful Rosie Posie Stamp set?"  It looks like one of the grand kid's got into my craft room  :-D

Sorry for the night time pic, I will take another photo in the daylight.

I stamped the leaves and flowers onto White heavy weight card stock and spritzed it with water to muddy up the images.
After it dried, I took my thinnest black pens to "Doodle" around the petals and leaves I had just stamped.
The bling is covering up a pen ink mishap~it happens, right?

The panel behind is Blue Shimmer paper...Thank you, Joyce M. for reminding me I've been hoarding 5 packages of this pretty paper!  :-)

MAKE IT MONDAY
ANCHORING WITH BORDER AND
BANNER DIES

Melissa Phillips is featuring her beautiful technique of layering die cuts this week on the MIM Challenge.   You can watch her video HERE as she shows us how to use border and banner dies to anchor our focal points.
Click on photo for more details

Okay, this technique of adding layers and layers and layers is waaaaay out of my comfort zone, it never looks quite right to me and certainly is not as pretty as Melissa's or so many of your posted creations.  But... it's a Make It Monday, and I have to give it a go or at least try, eh?
My PTI dies and stamps are from Beautiful Butterflies and Swoosh sets and the base card is Stamper's Select White.
