Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger-Stripped Mittens

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!

I am posting this card for Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger sooner rather than later this week. :o) The stripped mittens are my inspiration to use a bunch (well, a few anyway) of my many scraps all over my desk. I used border punches from Martha Stewart and Fiscars to copy the colors on the mittens. I used the "Plaid Block" stamp by Impression Obsession in two different directions to make the last green stripe and stamped the "Joy" stamp from Mark's Finest Papers on top then glittered it with Stickles. Thank you for stopping by!

Moxie Fab - Thank You Card Challenge

Well I think the amount of Thank You cards I send out are definitely second to Birthday cards in my craft room. This is a card I had on 'stand by' for a while and just sent out to a dear friend who is always very thoughtful and doing things for me and so many others in her life.

My Card ~
Stamp: Hibiscus from See D's Tropicals
Ink: outlined in Chocolate brown by Stampabilities: colored with Decorative Chalks and yellow Stickles
Embellishments: White designer ribbon and the Heart Charm w/Thank You etched on it are from Joann's
Tools: Butterfly punch by Anna Griffin which I also cut out and put inside the card (only 3 cause I didn't want to annoy my friend when they fell on the floor as she opened the card :) I stamped the flower on the envelop with Soft Lilac ink from Memories Hero Arts

Moxie Fab - Congratullations Card Challenge

This is actually the third of five challenges in the Moxie Fab World week long celebration. We are to create a Congratulations card. It can be for a new baby, a new job, graduation, engagement, or moved into a new house. I made this card
Congratulating my friend Gail when her first Granddaughter was born.

There are no stamps or ink here, just textured white card base and pale pink card stock mat trimmed with Fiscars paper edger scissors. I adhered three dimensional stickers, glittery gingham squares and diamond embossed mats, tied with a pink satin ribbon around the pink paper and pinned on a lacy flower with a baby safety pin. The sentiment is computer generated.
Click on the photo for more details. Thank you for stopping by and hope you all had a great weekend.

Moxie Fab - All Occasion Card Challenge

This was the first of a week long Challenge at Moxie Fab World.
http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/11/card-creations-favorite-occasions-week.html

All occasion cards are those cards that encompass occasions that don't fit anywhere else ~ missing you, hello, friendship, encouragement, thinking of you, sympathy, blank, etc.

I find Sympathy cards one of the most difficult to create, but usually enlist one of my many 'flower' stamps to help out here. Also, my card will always have a Clean and Simple style and I try for elegant and pastel colors. This card seems to represent what I will create for these sad occasions.

My Card~
Cardstock: White base card is from Georgia Pacific, off to the right of the card face is embossed
Stamp: Hydrangea is from Anna Griffin
Ink: the image was stamped on white paper with Chocolate Brown from Stampabilities and colored in with Decorative Chalks then it was cut out and set on the card with Pop Dots for a 3-D effect
Embellishments: Sheer Lavender ribbon from Joann's
If you click on the photo you will see more details. Thank you so much for stopping by this evening.

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
I just turned on the computer for the first time today. Had company for dinner and spent most of the day cleaning, cooking and cleaning up again, so I completely forgot what the date was and that Papertrey Ink's Blog Hop is today :o(

WOWZA! Everyone has done such a fabulous job on their tags for this hop...I didn't have the time or mojo to really do as great a job as you all did. I made them like mini-cards with 3-D stickers and computer generated the sentiments ~ AND, these probably don't qualify for tags but, I stamped "To: and From:" on the inside and there is room for a little note also. Actually, I just wanted to post to this BEST Blog Hop evahhhhh! Plus, I now have some fantastic ideas after checking out some of your beautiful work and definitely have drawn a ton of inspiration from you! Thank you , PTI and thanks to your creative and talented following!! Happy week-end :o)

I decided to celebrate winter with my PTI "Fancy Flourish" stamp set, ice blue rhinestones, sheer ribbon and Stickles "Crystal" glitter for an overall wintery look~~this will be sent to one of my snow/sleet/cold lovin' friends up North :o)

Moxie Fab - Fright-spiration

Another Moxie Fab challenge from Cath who says:

Boil and bubble, dragon's lair
Do you have scaries for to share?

Link your treasures, one by one
So we can join in all your fun!

But do it by the 31st,

It's
fright-spiration for which we thirst!

You can join in on the ghoulishness here:
http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/10/five-x2-for-friday-bopping-for-fright.html

If you read my previous post, you know I am NOT a Halloweener, but seeing as I had some of this fabby black sparkly paper on my craft desk, I figured I would make another "Eek Factor" card and share with ya!

I drew the spider web onto the gray cloud vellum paper, cut out the spiders and bat, punched the Martha Stewart 'Arch Lattice' border all out of the sparkly black card stock and tied some peach colored toulle around the orange DCWV card stock. Those spiders (my personal eeeeekkkk!) are popped off the card with foam mounting dots and the bat is flying off the toulle.

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger-Momento Mori

Well here it is almost the deadline date for Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger. You still have time to add your entry here http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/10/tuesday-trigger-momento-mori.html
For some reason ~ I am NOT a Halloween card maker/costume wearing/party going kinda gal. I am sure there must must some dark rooted reason, but darned if I know what the heck it is...just not crazy about this holiday!

Anywho, I was thinking this photo was calling to my "Dark Side" and found myself compelled to make a card for the challenge.
For all of the above mentioned reasons, I do not have any Halloween stamps in my stash, so I had to improvise here. Purchased this beautiful black glitter paper several months ago (no idea why?) and I had this cloudy vellum paper from a 'past-life' office job
and was told by my boss to throw it away when we were through with a few of the sheets~~weeellll, THAT was never gonna happen! Actually, I think this is only the second time I have used it on a card, but you never know when you will need it, do ya :o? I cut out the tomb stones~one of them has a 'Gothic' looking punch from EKSuccess, two bats and graveyard dirt, glued it on the vellum and cut out a full moon from white card stock with my Fiskars Circle punch, glued that on some pretty orange card stock from DCWV, then wrapped black toulle around it and, wha la, here's my card! You can click on the photo for a clearer view of the glitter paper and grey cloudy vellum paper.

Thanks for dropping by, have a great rest of your weekend!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger-Languish in Luxurious

Here's an Anniversary card I made with the inspiration from Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger.
The wallpaper in the photo reminded me of the "Textile" embossing folder from Cuttlebug and the flowers in the vase looked like an orchid to me. The brown 'ribbon' was made with card stock and punched with Martha Stewart's "Cornice" edge punch. The potted orchid stamp is from "See D's 262" pack of clear stamps, which I painted with Shimmerz paints. The flower looks orange in this photo, but it's sorta pinky. I added the ribbon tie cause these Dendrobium Orchids need to be tied or else they flop over :o)
Thank you for stopping by!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger-Funky Fall

Ok, so I've been away for the last couple of weeks~~we went back to PA, NY and MA for more visiting with friends and relatives. Miss you all so much! Even though we had our Netbook Computer with us, the WIFI connections were not always the best. I am trying to catch up with all of the wonderful cards and projects posted in Blog Land...WOWZA, you have been very busy! Hope I can catch up before we head out again :o)

I am entering this card in the Moxie Fab World - Tuesday Trigger. I really love the inspiration photo "Abstract Folk Art Painting by Catherine Horvath Buchanan" and may try to get another card entered (?) You still have time so go, check out all the fabulous creations here:
http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/10/tuesday-trigger-funky-fall.htmlMy Card ~ Click on the image for a larger view
There is actually no stamping here...WHAT? Yes, this is shocking :-O but true. Well, there are stamped maple leaves on the 'addressed' envelope which I could not show in the photo ~ so I'm not counting that. The sentiment is computer generated, the flower is a silk from my huge supply and the leaves are a cut of wide ribbon. The base card stock is from SU; the dark green mat is from DCWV, which is embossed with Divine Swirl from Cuttlebug; the twine is from ACE Hardware.

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger-Lipsylicious!

Hey everyone! Hope you are enjoying your weekend (which is almost over). Here I am getting in on the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger - at the last minute, I guess 2 weeks is just not enough time for me - Ughhhh! I've thought about this Trigger every day of those two weeks and of course, this is not what was in my head. But, this card does have a lot of the pinks, reds, mauves and a ting of purple in there too :)! If you click on the not-so-great photo, you may see more detail ~ not much I could do about the baby pic though ~ after all it is 40 years old!

Moxie Fab -Offset Scallop Gallop Challenge

Wow, it seems like another "forever" since I last posted anything here, BUT, I have been a busy crafter and will share some of my cards in a bit. For today's post I wanted to enter Moxie Fab World's Offset Scallop Gallop challenge~ You have until October 4th to upload your entry and join in the fun here: http://www.moxiefabworld.com/2010/09/moxie-fab-world-challenge-offset.html

The card for this challenge started out in a totally different direction, but ended up like this!
I have a Studio G stamp from Michael's $1 bin which has been added to my "collection of owl stamps" (don't ask!). His belly has offset scallops, but the stamp is so small, I needed to enlarge him a tad...put him on my scanner. kicked it up a notch or two and
wha-lah, printed out a BIG owl. Must be low on the colored inks that make brown, so he came out on the greenish side :) I thought I would cut him out and pop him onto the printed card stock, so I was really sloppy with the sponging of brown ink~~then decided I liked his coloring that way and left it on the white cardstock. Added the offset scallops (punched on yellow and melon papers) on each side, sticking out a bit from the edge of the card. I feel this needs 'something else' and have been playing with THAT ~ but then again, less is more on some cards, huh?
Well,
anywhoo, if you are still here~~THANKS for dropping by friends, I just love reading your supportive comments!

My Card:
Cardstock: Base White is Georgia Pacific: Yellow, Melon are DCWV; Dk Brown tree PP is American Crafts
Stamp: Owl from StudioG at Michael's, Sentiment from "Party Cupcakes" by Inque
Ink: Outlined owl in brown Crayola pencil; inked the image in Chocolate Brown by Stampabilities; outlined the belly with an orange glitter gel pen
Tools: Corner rounder by EKSuccess; "Cornice" edge punch from Martha Stewart
Embellishments: Those fabulous owl eyes are Bazzill Buttons which were included in afabulous prize package I won by entering a contest at Paper Crafts Connection's July/August I-Spy post.
Thank YOU, Susan!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger-Light & Bright

Weeeelll, I've been MIA for such a long time! Missed so many fun challenges and all the posts of my "Blogger Friends" WoWza! You all have been soooo busy, I am not even close to catching up with all of your wonderful posts yet!

We were away for 16 days and it seems more like a month. Went to the North East to visit family and friends in PA, NJ, CT, MA, NH and ME. Had a really great time, beautiful weather and ate lots of wonderful seafood at our most favorite restaurants...also found a few more to add to our ever-growing list. Been thinking of starting another Blog for our Travel Adventures, posting photos along the way...will let ya know about that project latahhh (oh yeah, I got my Boston accent back ;O)

Meanwhile, back at the Card Blog, I had the chance to make a card using the fab colors in this MFW Tuesday Trigger.
I stamped the 'Row of Houses' in brown ink on yellow and raspberry cardstock, also in Sky Blue on white cardstock. I cut out two of the yellow houses and one raspberry house and used pop dots to adhere to the the same house inked underneath in blue.

My Card~
Cardstock: Yellow base card, dark blue & raspberry are from DCWV; the White is Georgia Pacific
Stamp: Row of Houses from Hero Arts; sentiment computer generated in royal blue ink
Ink: SkyBlue from Archival; Chocolate Brown from Stampabilities
Embellishments: Yellow polkado ribbon from BasicBasic bought at Michaels
Tools: Corner Rounder punches (small & large) from EK Success; Lace Border is Martha Stewart

Moxie Fab- Card Style -Clean & Graphic

This is my entry for Moxie Fab's Card Syle ~ Clean & Graphic. Well, this might NOT be my 'style' of card cause I can't seem to leave well enough alone ;o) I just want to keep adding stuff. I am sure THAT has some deep rooted meaning (:-)

Click on the photos for more detailed images. I am working on my notebook computer and feel like I am going blind --this screen is way tiny compared to my desktop.

Anywho, my card has only one stamped image on it--it's a bird in a gilded cage that I picked up in Michael's G Studio stamp bin. I inked it with Ranger's Embossing Ink and used gold embossing power. The background is a script stamp from Hero Arts. The musical notes are Cuttlebug's A2 folder and the giga Marvy oval punch frames the cage. The music note is a brad from Making Memories.
The inside sentiment was generated by my computer.
Thank you so much for stopping by~I love hearing from you and really appreciate your comments.

Moxie Fab - Card Style Week - Fun & Cute

There's another challenge over at Moxie Fab World~stop by this week and join in the great challenges all week long!!! The new issue of Card Style Magazine is out and Cath is helping us find our "Style". Really?
Well, I am not sure what my style of card making is but I couldn't resist posting this Thank You card with this sweet bear holding a sunflower~HOW CUTE IS HE?

Bought this stamp at a yard sale and it doesn not have any markings on it :( sorry, I don't know who made it, anybody recognize him?

I inked him up with Stampabilities Chocolate Brown and colored him in with Brown chalk, the sunflower is also colored in with pencil and Yellow chalk with Green chalked leaves--there are Copper Stickles in the center. The Border Punch is 'Hearts' by Fiscars and the sentiment is computer generated.

I may try to get another card posted before the deadline :o? It is FUN to be CUTE!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger-Poppin'Off the Page

Weeeell, I was not too sure about joining this week's Moxie Tuesday Trigger~these colors are way out of my comfort zone! But after playing around with these very bright Poppin' colors,
I decided to give it a go and liked the results.

I started out thinking this would be a Birthday card for one of the kiddies in the family...but I thought it looked a little Psychedelic Trippin' and may be better suited for a Child of the 60's instead. So, I made a second attempt using buttons, which I think softened the look a tad...hmm, maybe not...I'm still Trippin' :):):)

My Card~
Stamps: Dream Dots by Inque; Roulette by Inkadinkado
Card stock: Yellow base card, Red and Pink are from DCWV; Black & White print is a note card from Michael's
Ink: All stamps were inked with Ranger Clear Embossing ink
Embossing Powders: Pink, Blue from Whispers, Black from PSX
Buttons: Red, yellow, blue from Michael's $1 bin

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger-Pahala Halter from Anthropologie

Haven't joined in the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger in weeks for some reason or another, but I have a few Hibiscus Flower stamps (which I love) and I really like Red, Black, White and Yellow together~ especially for masculine cards. This card is rather 'plain' for me, I kept trying to add different elements or layers :^P But in the end decided to go the Clean and Simple route.
You can click on the card for a more detailed image.

My Card~
Card Stock: White base card is Georgia Pacific; Red cards stock is from a DCWV Mat Stack
Stamp: Hibiscus from See D's 'Tropicals' clear stamps; HB sentiment is See D's also I think(?)
Ink: The flower and sentiment is stamped with Archival 'Jet Black' and the leaves are painted over with Shimmerz 'Green Olive' and 'Key Lime' ~ can you see the glittery sheen? I added a little more glitter with Stickles on the yellow stybus of my hibiscus ; I used a fine point marker pen to hand draw the black frame

I first stamped the flower onto the white card front, then stamped it onto red card stock and onto yellow. Cut out each of the flower parts and placed on top of each other with pop dots for dimension.

Well, I enjoyed using my (found) bicycle stamp so much that I thought I would make a second card for two challenges. Everything But the Kitchen Sink has a fun sketch challenge from the talented Winter Sims ~ whose name you see EVERYWHERE in BlogLand lately :o)

I kinda turned the sketch on it's side and made my card a bit rectangle rather than square, but I think it' works ;o?

Anywho, I missed you all and the fabulous challenges I was eying from afar..took my laptop to keep 'connected' with everyone :O)
Had to make a Congratulations card for a friend who graduated from an on-line course she took this week. Whoot whoot!

Betsy Veldman's Sketch Challenge

Don't you just love Betsy Veldman!?! She has the most inspirational blog ~ when you have some time (actually, take lots of time :o) head on over and check out her beautiful creations http://scrapbookgirl.typepad.com/paper_scissors_and_superh/

I needed another Baby Girl card and wanted to do something "new" --- just love reinventing that wheel. This is 2 of 3 baby girls born to friends --- the third is due in October. Betsy has a wonderful sketch challenge that seemed to be "perfect" for this card. What do you think? Is there enough pink?

My card:
Base card stock is pink marble from Xerox, pink and white stripe and flowery print designer paper from Creative Imaginations.
The sleeping baby bear on a cloud is a felt 3-D sticker from the Dollar store.
The pink heart shaped button is from a package bought at Michael's.
Glittery butterfly, star from my stash.
There is gingham ribbon under the lace and the white ribbon through the button - all from Michael's
Extra Giga scalloped oval punch by Marvy
Sentiment typed on my computer in brown ink
Hmmm, there are NO stamps on this card~it may be a "first" :o)

Moxie Fab - Tuesday Trigger-Square Vase of Roses

My take on the Tuesday Trigger- a beautiful glass vase of roses is this!

I actually started out with a square card and a stamp with more roses in a vase, but that card is not going to make it for Tuesday :o(
I will have to share it with you later. This card was finished and it does have roses on it in various shades of pink~ kinda close?
