PTI 11th Anniversary-Day 10

Day 10 of Papertrey Ink's celebration of 11 years brings us
the final card Challenge.

The Challenge: Stripes Challenge
Since it’s PTI's 11th anniversary and the number 11 look alike they thought it could be fun to use vertical, horizontal, stamped or die cut stripes in a project today making the stripes the star of the show.

PTI 11th Anniversary-Day 8

Day 8 of Papertrey Ink's celebration of 11 years brings us
another card Challenge.

The Challenge:  Color Combo Challenge
Create a project utilizing one of the beautiful color combinations provided from design team's projects posted today.
It's probably okay to CASE one of the DT's cards also...😉

I chose Keeway's Color Recipe
My Card ~
I love the Tulip Time flower and little butterfly images
and seem to use them most for Sympathy cards.
The sentiment is from Spring Woods.
The die cut corner is from Tim Holtz- Sizzix ~ I left a few of the pieces in the die, thought it added a little interest.

This stamp is from the Hampton Arts "Coloring Clear Stamps" collection.  I have 3 of these stamp sets and just like the adult coloring books that are so popular now, you can choose to color everything or some of the sweet and whimsical images.
I went a little crazy and colored in most of this lovely garden. 😊

Love the sweet heart-shaped balloons among the posies and also there are hearts on the embossing folder on the panel of pink cardstock under the stamp...
so I posted this for the mid-month CWS-HEART challenge.
I think this is going to be a birthday card, but it could be a Valentine, Hello, Thinking of You, Anniversary, Thank You,
Get Well, Just a note, etc. etc. etc.

PTI 11th Anniversary-Day 7

Day 7 of Papertrey Ink's celebration of 11 years brings us
another fun Challenge.

The Challenge:  Use Only Dies – No Stamps!
The traditional gift for an 11th anniversary is steel, so in honor of this, today's challenge is to make a project using dies only – no stamps allowed! We can use our sentiment dies and Cover Plates.

My Card ~
I die cut the Butterfly Cover Plate out of  2 different purple cards stocks.  One was solid and one was glittery.  There is a page of journal cards in a lovely 12X12 pak of paper from Craft Smith called 'Serenity'. I never know what to do with those because I don't scrapbook, but this challenge seemed to be the perfect place to use one on my cards atop an embossed panel 😁.   Those butterflies are popped onto the card with a couple of 1/5 X 1/5" thick square tabs from Tombow giving them a real 3-D effect and they literally look like they fluttered onto the card (you can actually see the shadows in my picture).
~~ This card will go to one of my teenage nieces who is pretty much a leader and not one to follow the pack 💓

PTI 11th Anniversary-Day 5

Day 5 of Papertrey Ink's celebration of 11 years.

The Challenge:  Retirement List Set Challenge
We are to create a project utilizing a set from the 2018 Retirement List on your project.

There is a list of over 200 stamp sets (I think that number was in a comment from someone who must have counted).  WOW, that's alotta stamps, but you have a couple of months to order any that your just have to have and the exciting news is PTI is adding so many new sets with each month's release.

I spotted Beautiful Butterflies on the list and think I should order a new stamp set, cause mine is getting worn out, besides the lovely images, the sentiments have been used on so many of my cards.

Click on card for more details
I partially die cut 2 Butterflies on the edge  of the base card, stamped  'em with  pink and orange ink, the inside flap is embossed with a flower design EF from Sizzix.  The sentiment is inked in black Versafine and overlaps the small butterfly. The bodies were die cut from white glitter paper and pink sequins were added just because 😉

PTI 11th Anniversary-Day 4

Day 4 of the Papertrey Ink's celebration of 11 years.
The Challenge: Florals

Day 4 brought us all things botanical in the announcement.  Isn't that Anniversary set gorgeous! 💓
So the challenge is to pull out your favorite floral sets and create.  Yay! I simply love all of my PTI floral stamps, and I chose one of their older sets ~ Rosie Posie  🌸  I die cut the flower on heavy weight c/s and popped it on the pink and white paint splattered kraft card base with double sided tape.

This is a very CAS design...I really loved the card Kimberly Crawford made.  She also decorated her envelope to match her beautiful card~I will do that before mailing this card.

PTI 11th Anniversary-Day 3

Today is Day 3 of the Papertrey Ink's celebration of 11 years.
The Challenge:  Transformation Tuesday (on a Wednesday)
Take a card you’ve made in the past and transform it in some way.

This is a pretty easy task for me cause I have a few cards I've made for different challenges that I wasn't 100% happy with, so there is a 'stash' 😊 And the fact is, it takes me so long to create cards, I can't bear tossing them in the recycle bin.  Yup, this is going to be a good 'new' feature for me!

My Card ~
The design is CAS and it came together quickly.  I used Versafine ink and black embossing power on the Peonies On Parade stamps on pink c/s, the base card is embossed with Sizzix flowery EF on Stamper's Select white.  Musical note washie tape from Recollections is under the happy birthday die from Spellbinders.

This is the original card ~

I think the re-do is much prettier than my original which begs the question, "What was I going for here?"  😁

MIM #311

MAKE IT MONDAY
Using Different Types of Papers

Stephanie is sharing ways to incorporate different types of papers in card-making for Make it Monday this week.  I am not sure we ever had this technique on MIM before, but I am wanting to use some of the *gigantic-pile-of-papers in my craft room so, count me in! 😁
You can see Stephanie's beautiful card and video HERE

* If you have been around my Blog for a while, you may have read that I save EVERYTHING, even some pieces of junk mail ~ which I feel compelled to open up, just in case there is a little sumpthin'
I can use on a card one day!😉

My Card ~
Except for the Song Bird and Leaves dies, most of the bits and pieces for this card were on my desk top in a tray that I toss stuff into. That small leftover panel of cream c/s is embossed with Hearts from a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The 3 feathers were floating around (literally) from the last time I opened the plastic bag of 'em and they never made it back in. The polka dot brad was put away, but I found it while looking for something else, so it was added to the kraft script-embossed tag.  That calendar page is from a 2014 calendar from a local realtor came in the mail.  Yup, I saved it ~ actually used a couple of the months from it for different birthday cards through the years and this card is for a friend whose B-Day is this month.
