MIM #102- card 2

Make It Monday #102 is Pillow Box Stamping and Assembly ~ you can watch Ashley's video HERE

Here's another pillow box I made for a "gift card" gift. I just LOVE these personalized boxes and think I will get a bunch done for future giving with this challenge.

The box was unassembled ~ laying flat which I randomly stamped with PTI's Spiral Bouquet flowers, stem and leaves. The leaves are highlighted with lime green glitter glue from Studio G and the sheer turquoise ribbon is from Michael's.

Thanks so much for stopping by and leaving comments! I so appreciate you taking the time ~ plus, it gives me the chance to come by and see your creations :)

MIM #102

This week I am getting a couple of Thank You gift card boxes made for the Make It Monday Challenge.  Check out Ashley's video HERE and see how pretty you can decorate this fun packaging for any small gift items ...each one can become a personalized gift with that Special person in mind.

Before I assembled my pillow box, I stamped it (flat and opened) with PTI's Fancy Flourishes stamps in chocolate brown ink.  Then added a couple of brown blings, satin brown ribbon for a one loop bow and tied on the little "thank you" heart charm with baker's twine.

Thanks for the visit :)

PTI - Jan Blog Hop

I'm posting another card for the   PTI - January 2013 Blog Hop   It's all about Black Backgrounds.

This card is for a dear friend, who always knows how to make me feel better with just a word, act of kindness or just letting me know she is always "there for me".

I used one of  PTI's Banner Borders die cut on different colored/glitter papers and glued them to the True Black cardstock from PTI.  The patterned paper under the black panel is from American Girl.  'Friends' is from PTI's Spiral Bouquet

The inside sentiment of the card really says it all :)

PTI - Jan 2013

I love the chaulkboard technique from a couple of Make It Monday Challenges back, so decided to use it  paired with this month's "Black Backgrounds"  card challenge for this month's

I used Neon Blue embossing power by Zing  on my flower image, but it didn't adhere as well as I thought it would   :(   The White embossing powder really shows up pretty well.

Cardstock:  Base card is light grey by DCWV; True Black by PTI
Stamps:  Spiral Bouquet by PTI sentiment by Inique Boutique
Tools:  Swiss Dot embossing folder by Cuttlebug; Corner Rounder by EKSuccess

From Nicole Heady's post today:
This months challenge is to turn our creativity towards black!   Using black backgrounds for projects which allows  color combination to pop from the page.  Here is your chance to try black as a background yourself!  Pair it up with a bold geometric design or a brightly colored bouquet.  Heat embossing looks so elegant when used on a black background.  And don't forget how well white ink will show up as well.  Just pull out some black cardstock and have fun experimenting with a brand new look for a brand new year!

Okay, here is my first card:

Sentiment is from Spiral Bouquest by PTI; True Black cardstock by PTI

MIM #101

This week on Make It Monday,  Heather Nichols has video that teaches you how to layer one color of heated embossing powder over another one.Well, after several attempts at this technique, I decided I may need to watch the video a few more times.  My embossing powders were not cooperating :(

I am not crazy about how this card came out, so I will probably have to keep trying to get this right  :o)

My Card ~
Stamps:  Spiral Bouquet by PTI: sentiment by Inique Boutique; butterfly by Inkadinkado
Embossing powders (blue, green, black, white) by PSX

MIM #100 ~ card 2

This is another card I made for Make It Monday #100.
I like to stamp my envelopes with something of a hint of what's inside for the recipient ~ a 'sneak peek' if you will :o)

On this one I used a mason jar on vellum as well as stamping it on the card stock - makes it easier to stamp inside the jar directly onto the cardstock image.  I used the flowers and stems from Spiral Bouquet by PTI (which is also my envelope design).  Fussy cutting these blooms was NOT my brightest idea, but thankfully there were only a few flowers and I wanted them to be placed off the A2 size card.

Unfortunately it just started raining out, so this is an inside photo. Will try to get a better shot tomorrow.

My card ~
Cardstock:  base card is DCWV double sided paper; Vellum is from Paperbilities ...can you see the tiny flowers? Thought they looked like my jar was etched glass  ;)
Stamps: Spiral Bouquet from PTI; mason jar from Inkadinkadoo
Inks:  Stampin' Up; Archival Brilliance
Tools & Embellishments: Border punch  and Pearls from Martha Stewart; Bakers Twine from Darice

Thank you for stopping by!

MIM #100

I have a card for Make It Monday #100, Dawn McVey shows us how to package cards with oversized embellishments.  Now I have been using 'larger than A2' envies for my cards because I like to have stuff hanging off the sides or top of my cards...but,  I did learn a few new tips, so this video was yet another learning tool from one of the Papertrey Ink Master Designers :)

My card details~
Cardstock:  base card Raspberry and lime green panel are from Bazzill; Stamper's Select White is from PTI; tag is part of a fun RAK gift from my sweet blog friend Maureen in CA.
Stamps:  part of the sentiment is from  Spiral Bouquet by PTI; the Star Bright background stamp is from Stampabilities; foam stickers are from the Dollar Tree

I used a 5X7 inch envelope for my A2 card and masked off a section to write an address using my Star Bright stamp to decorate it.
Can't thank you all forstopping by, I'm off to check out some other's entries now :o)

MFW-Creative card challenge week

Over at Moxie Fab World this week, there are going to be challenges every day from a Special issue of Paper Crafts Magazine "75 Creative Card Challenges". Check it out, why don't you?

Today we are to Create a paper crafted card that uses
10 or more embellishment.

Here is a Christmas card I made for a friend which just happens to have 10 pearl snow flakes amongst the birch trees  :o)

This stamp image from Hampton Art has two birds on the tree branches, but I wanted to make hand cut red birds out of that red glitter paper in the background and added the small pearls on top of the snowflakes falling.  I cut the white glitter snow banks and layered them on top.

I appreciate you stopping by today.

MIM #98--Chalkboard Technique

Happy New Year!

Wow, can you believe another year has gone by?  It seems like just yesterday when we (well, some of us :) were celebrating the Millennium Year 2000.

I want to wish everyone a happy, healthy and  prosperous 2013 ~ may you be surrounded by many Blessings, much love, close family and good friends!

Wanted to share a card I made for the Make It Monday #98 Challenge this week.  In the video this week,  Betsy Veldman  shows us a very cool technique creating a chalkboard effect with your ink, stamps and embossing powder. It is easy, unique and "new-to-me" so I had to give it a try...I really like the outcome and will definitely  create more cards.

  My Card:

Cardstock:  Light grey base card and  dark grey panel are from DCWV

Stamps:  Spiral Bouquet from PTI; sentiment from See D's

Tools & Embellishments:    Swiss Dot embossing folder from Cuttlebug; gingham ribbon from my stash

Thanks for stopping by and taking the time to comment ~ you are so very appreciated :o)
