Considering I have limited use of my right hand (fractured my Humerus~not so funny~bone four weeks ago),  I was trying to go with a more CAS style.  The Beautiful Butterflies Layers and Dies popped onto a printed vellum sheet I've been hoarding for years :-), seemed to be the easiest.
PS:  I have to tell you, this "easy" card took me two+ hours to complete  :-}

MAKE IT MONDAY
Reverse Stenciling Challenge

Betsy is the host this week on MIM and she has a fun and easy reverse stenciling technique to showcase.  You can follow along with her video HERE then, grab your stencils and create!

I used Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist on my stencil of leaves, watered it down with a fine water mister then applied it to Stampers Select White card stock.  The Song Birds leaves and bird dies were added with double sided  tape and popped up off the edge of the white panel.  I embossed the pink card base with a woodgrain folder from The Paper Studio.

Coffee Lovers Bloghop-Summer '16

Love this sweet UNIKO stamp set "I Love Tea"!  This cup is just the right size and can be the focal point of the card front, the sentiments are lovely also.

The tea cup is inked onto a Spellbinders Labels Eight die,  then I cut it to adhere to the edge of my card front (fussy cut the piece of the cup to hang over).  It is colored with Spectrum Noir alcohol markers and popped onto the summery flowers PP by K&Company.

Coffee Lovers BlogHop-Summer '16

I won the "I Love Tea" stamp set from Uniko in the Spring Coffee Lovers Bloghop~THANK YOU to Beverly again!
I love this sweet set and have made several cards which have been mailed already ~ unfortunately, never took photos :(
Anywho, I tried masking the tea cup and stacked it for this card (there are a couple of flaring mistakes, you don't even have to look closely to find).   I will 'fix' the boo boos before mailing, but don't have the time right now and I'm posting it in the CLBH.

Trying to CASE Dawn McVey with this gorgeous card she created:

Okay, optimal word being "trying".... working primarily with my left hand is a "challenge" in itself  :-)

MIA

Hey there Blogland Friends,

Just popping in here to let you all know the reason I have not been around to post or visit.

On a planned yearly Birthday-Destination trip with three of my friends (we all share a June birthday), I fell and injured my right arm ~ I did this on the first day (Fri 6/3) upon arrival at the resort in Cancun, we were booked to stay until Thurs 6/9.  There are some very high curbs from the walkways at this place, not realizing that and being my first time there, I was not looking down while walking.  We were on our way to see our accommodations and my left foot went off one of  these high curbs---the right foot stayed on the walkway.  I lost my balance and hit the pavement hard~very hard!   I was not quite sure how much damage I had done to my upper arm, but the sharp pain of trying to move it away from my side was clearly an indication, I did something bad and needed to have ex-rays taken.  :-o

I stayed there  Friday night, hoping I would feel better in the morning.  On Saturday, the arm didn't feel any worse, but I still couldn't move it away from my side and continued to wear the sling the EMT at the hotel gave me when I fell. Through the day, a black and blue was spreading from my shoulder to my elbow. The concern that I had broken a bone was becoming more evident.  I checked out flights for Sunday morning to get me back to FL.  Thankfully, I was able to arrange for a friend to pick me up at the airport and drive me directly to the ER of my local hospital.   Thankfully there were no other patients waiting and I was taken right away.  The ex-rays showed a fracture of the Humerus (yeah, not so funny!) bone up by the shoulder socket. I was fortunate enough to get an appointment with an Orthopedic Surgeon on Monday and he said the only thing I could do was keep the arm stationary, then follow up with him in three wks for another ex-ray...he will then prescribe the next course of action.

The absolute WORST part of this is that I cannot drive myself and hate to bother my wonderful friends for rides everywhere :-(
I am managing to do just about everything with my left hand and getting pretty darn good at it, however, everything takes three times as long to do it!

I'm having severe withdrawal symptoms from not posting and making cards, so maybe I will attempt stamping with my left hand.  :-)

Sorry for this not-so-brief explanation!

Hope to see you soon~
Hugs,  Helen

MIM #251

MAKE IT MONDAY

 Gradient Watercolor Die Cuts

I am joining Miss Dawn this week on the MIM Challenge.
She shares tips for creating gradient blending with watercolor on your die cuts. Her cards are always so colorful and AMAZING. Check out Dawn's video HERE.

I used my watercolor paint set and created the rainbow of colors on White watercolor paper.  Then die cut the three "hello" dies from PTI-Wonderful Words.  I splattered some black paint from my brush onto the white panel (and everywhere else in my craft room :-{ )before adhering the hellos, twine and button. The pp is from a Stampin Up paper pad.

My Card ~
The sailboat is from "Happy Travels" by Glitz.
After stamping it in Black ink, I used Spectrum Noir markers to color everything on the Spellbinders die cut panel on white card-stock.  The water has some glossy accents spread over it and the sail is colored with white Opaque Paint Marker. That rope is tied into a Carrick Bend nautical knot (had to google that info)  :-)
The turquoise card base is embossed with a 'Sunburst'  Sissix folder for a little more texture.
I have a couple of sailboat enthusiasts in my family, so this card will surely be used for a Birthday this summer.
