I love Mason Jars...There are so many inspirational photos over at Moxie Fab World for this challenge JOY OF JARS ! I hope I have time for a couple more entries ~ my head is swirling with ideas (it's usually at 2 or 3 AM), unfortunately when these thoughts come out on paper, they don't look the same :(  Oh well, I am not giving up.

Here is card #2, card #1 is the post before this one

PTI - September Blog hop

I had this Fall fabric that I thought would make great Wine gift bags for the Autumn festivities.

It is pretty basic sewing.  The gift card is matching the colors of the fabric.  The stamps are from PTI's Fall Abundance set.

Edited to show a close up of the tag.

MFW - Card Design Week

I thought this card could be entered in the Moxie Fab World - Card Design Week - The Focal Point Challenge. There are a gazillion entries to this week's five challenges and I only made it into three.  :(
However, I am going to make a conscious effort to go through each entry and try my hand at all of them at some point. There is soooo much to learn about "design" in this special PC issue...let's hope I can pick up a few pointers!

MFW - TT - Envy Becomes You

I really didn't think I was going to find anything in my crafty supplies that would match the colors or shoes or design anywhere near what this Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger photo shows.
Silly me, of course I have theses colors at least...  So, here is the photo Cath found for us to be inspired by ~

Love these shoes!

And here is the card I created ~ you can click on my photo for more details :)

The flowery background is a note card mounted on Off White cardstock;  the stamped sentiment and butterfly are from Inkadinkado's 'Garden Flower' clear stamps -- I stamped the butterfly with turquoise ink and embossed it with 'Clear' embossing powder and the green bling is added to it's body, the trail is hand drawn with a pen marker; The satin ribbon is tied with only one half of a bow loop.

Thank you so much for stopping by my blog!

MIM #83

Another card for Make It Monday - Card Aisle Inspiration ~ Check out the video HERE

This is the card from the card aisle

Sorry this is not the best photo! Can you see the stripped paper and ribbon on the top?

This is my take on the store card.   The polka dots are much larger, the striped paper on top is more muted colors, and my tiny train engine has two cars attached, but this is MY interpretation, so I guess that's okay :o?

I used Banner Border die (PTI) as the striped top and the base card is Stamper's select White(PTI); little train stamps are from Studio G inked with Sapphire Blue from Creative Living; Polka Dot PP is from American Crafts; the yellow panel (paint chip from Lowe's) behind is embossed with Argyle folder from Cuttlebug; Sheer blue ribbon and blingy wheels are from Michael's;  two different sized Scalloped oval punches from Marvy.

Thanks for looking, have a good evening!

MIM #83 + MFW-Asymmetry Challenge

OK, I have to admit I am a Card Aisle stalker! I take photos of cards I see in the stores and think,  "I can make this!"
So when I saw the MIM video by Melissa Phillips HERE
I was all over this challenge and can sooo relate to Melissa saying,
"I can't leave well enough also, so I added...."
Yep, me too, I had to keep taking photos of the updated version :)

This is actually a Birthday card I received this year, not a stalked card aisle card ;)
Sorry this is a dark photo, it just started raining outside and had to re-take this one indoors!
I am also posting this card to Moxie Fab's Card Design Handbook Week - Asymmetry Challenge which you can check out HERE

definition of asymmetry:   Asymmetry is the placement of non-identical forms to either side of a balancing point in a way that the two sides seem to be of the same visual weight, but aren't.

Now, I think I have created Asymmetry with my butterflies and the sentiment, but also think I need this special PC issue, just to be sure...

Cath has a total of 5 challenges from this beauty still going on!

My card ~ please click on the photo to see more details Cardstock: Base card and panel are Stamper's Select White from PTI; lavender embossed frame panel from Recollections
Stamp:  Patterned Bugs from Inkadinkado
Tools & Embellishments: Corner Rounder from Zutter;  Hearts embossing folder from Cuttlebug; Sheer lavender polka dot ribbon from Michaels; 3-D butterfly stickers from Special Moments; Lavender glitter on butterfly bodies from Stickles

MFW - A Pin Therin

I really wanted to do something completely different for this Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World ~ there were all sorts of designs rolling around in my head, mostly with little pin-cushions, doilies, ribbons, bows, lacy border punches and pretty stick pins...

Check out all the fab cards and projects that were inspired by this sweet photo HERE .

For my card, I picked up on the vintage look of the brown pin cushion with my old fashion bicycle, the shabby chic flower print,  green gingham at the bottom of the photo, and the scalloped lace.

CLICK ON THE PHOTOS FOR MORE DETAILS
The inside of my card has the sentiment:
...enjoy the ride
I stamped the bicycle once then 'stamped-off'' two more times and the inside paper is a street map design.

Thanks so much for stopping by, I'll be around to see your entries too   :)

MIM#81 - handmade clay embellishments

This is card #2 for Make It Monday #81

I have all this Play Dough, so figured I should make at least a couple of cards with it, no ;-?

My Card ~ click on the photo for a more detailed look

Cardstock:  Aqua blue from Recollections; the numbers and polka dot strips are Paper Borders from Martha Stewart

Stamps:  Fancy Flourishes from PTI; Camellia flower from Martha Stewart
Ink:  StazOn - Jet Black

Tools & Embellishments:  Green play dough from The Dollar Tree: bling in the center of the flower from Crystal Stickers at Michaels; the sentiment is from my computer

Thanks for stopping by, as always, YOU are so appreciated :o)

MIM #81- Clay Embellishments

Make It Monday was certainly challenging  :^) this week.
Take a look at Betsy Veldman's video HERE.
Of course, Betsy can make anything look easy with her creative talent...me, not so much.  I wanted to give this a try and  will be adding the details later.  This is my first card:

First of all, I don't have any clay and was wondering how play dough would work? Seems you can roll it out (I used a round BIC pen), bake it to dry it out and stamp on it with StazOn Black ink.
My Second dilemma, was no cute little usable Dies. So, I used a scallop edged cookie cutter ~ hey, a girl's gotta do, what a girl's gotta do, right?

My Card ~

Cardstock:  Off white base card is from Hero Arts ~ which I picked up at the Goodwill Store for $.59 (a package of 8 cards and envies in 4 diff colors); the 'tag' is homemade out of a BEHR paint chip in 'Gentle Sky' blue from Home Depot's paint dept

Stamps:  Fancy Flourishes from PTI; Camellia flower from Martha Stewart

Tools & Embellishments:  Leaf Impression plate from Sissix;  yellow play dough from The Dollar Tree: pearls in the center of the flower from Crystal Stickers at Michaels; the leaves are from wedding favors at Hobby Lobby; sheer ribbon is from The Dollar Tree

Thanks for stopping by tonight!

MFW- MInty Fresh & MIM #80

Well, this is my first post since August 15th.  I am trying to play catch up on the Blogs that I usually follow and want to say,  YOU all have been very busy little crafters ... I still have miles in cyberspace to travel yet :)  Pleeeze, be patient with me, I promise to get by to see you soon!

I was in New England last week for another family funeral ~
that's the sad news.  But, the happy news is, I finally was able to meet up with my sweet friend Cath Edvalson. She has been there for me on a personal basis through emails and FB messages at the most difficult time in my life, plus her daily inspiration on MFW has helped me get back to (and enjoying) crafting.   I didn't think it was possible for someone to be as Moxie Fabulous and just so genuine, but Cath truly is!!  Luv Ya, GF

On to the crafty end of this post...my trip was planned rather suddenly, so when I got home, there were lots of cards to make and  mail out for birthdays, anniversaries and thinking of yous this week. Yay...mission accomplished  :-p

So today I am trying to meet a couple of challenge deadlines ~ yes, that would be Sunday and Monday.

This card is for the Moxie Fab World-Minty Fresh Challenge which you can check out HERE and still join in until Monday. There are so many gorgeous mint green inspiration photos to choose from, I may have to whip up a couple of cards for this one.

Picked the mint green chapel - for the buildings on my card
My card is for friends who had to move out of state for a new job and I miss them being close by in my neighborhood.

This second card is for MIM #80, watch the video by Ashley Cannon Newell HERE

I bought this 3-in-1 Leaf punch and some other crafty goodies (like 30 extra pounds in my suitcase) on my trip to MA.
I miss you AC Moore~the closest one to me in FL is 200 miles away! :(
