MIM #114

Make It Monday #114 ~ Blown Ink Challenge

This week, Dawn McVey has a video how to showing us a new-to-me technique.  I've seen it before, but never tried it myself, so this challenge is the perfect opportunity, right?  I liked the way Dawn started all of the paint blowing from one side of the panel, then covered it up with layers and her sentiment, so I kinda copied her layout.

My Card ~
I used Glimmer Mist because I only have one re-inker and I thought this technique really lends itself to more than one color being blown around on the cardstock :)

Cardstock:  Card base and panel are Stamper's Select White by PTI; the Aqua, Green Apple and Teal are from Michael's

Tools/Dies:  Beautiful Butterflies from PTI; Scalloped and Smaller Circle punches from Marvy; Birds & Swirls embossing folder by Cuttlebug
Glimmer Inks:  Granite from Tattered Angels : Green and Teal from Ditto
Embellishments:  bling from Studio G; the flower is a 3-D sticker from Special Moments ~ can you see a sequin on the leaf?

PTI - April Blog Hop

Here is my last card for the Papertrey Ink April Blog Hop Tilted Challenge ~ getting in under the wire :)

 PTI Products Used:
Stamps/Die:  Rosie Posie

Cardstock:  Stampers Select White

I cut strips of patterned paper borders by Martha Stewart and glued them diagonally. The stem and leaves from the daisy flower are glued flat onto the card and the daisy is popped up for dimension. the black and white gingham bow was adhered to the base of the stem, Yellow glitter from Stickles is the center of the flower. I haven't added a sentiment because it may just be a note card.

I created another card for the PTI Blog Hop - Tilted Challenge
You have time to link up your entries HERE

PTI Products used ~
Stamps: Rosie Posie and Beautiful Butterflies

I stamped the sentiment on flower patterned vellum and taped it into the glittery chipboard frame which is popped up for dimension, added two bling accents and "tilted" it onto my aqua card stock. The aqua panel is glued to a white card base. The bottom of the card front is decorated with a border punch by Martha Stewart.  The leaves and posies are die cuts and just the top flower is popped up with double sided tape.

MIM #113

Make It Monday - Perfect Pearls

This week's VIDEO by Nicole introduces us (well, me) to a new product called Perfect Pearls ~ it is a pigment powder that has metallic sheen to it.  I have not heard about this crafty item before, but really like the effect it creates on cards....so, I'll just have to buy some.  But for today's MIM entry, I used Radiant Pearls which I think has the same sort of look because of it's shimmery shine :)

My Card~ click on the photo for more details

Cardstock:  Base card is Stamper's Select White by PTI; Deep teal is by Colorbok; Yellow banner is a paint chip (Haystack by Martha Stewart Living)
Stamps:  Sentiment is from Beautiful Butterflies by PTI; Cake Trio by Impression Obsession
Tools:  Border punch by Martha Stewart; Mini Jewel Brads by American Crafts; Metallic Cord from Target

I embossed the Cakes with White embossing powder, heat dried then painted each with Lime green, Lemon Chiffon and Petal Pink Radiant Pearls.  I hand cut the banner and stamped the sentiment with Teal ink.

MFW TT #3

Here's my 3rd card for Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger.~
Wake Up Call .

Almost seems like I am trying to make up for all the TT's I missed ... LOL

Again, the colors, polka dots and coffee theme inspired my card.

The cute cup o' latte is a 3-D sticker, I am thinking of making a set of cards for my coffee-lovin' friend while I'm on a roll here :)

MFW - TT #2

A second card for Moxie Fab's Tuesday Trigger - Wake-Up Call

I managed to get another card in for this week's TT,. I am bound and determined to use up a few more of the (waaay too many)  stickers and papers covering my craft desk :)
Actually, I'm thinking I need an intervention~can't stop buying this stuff!

Click on the photos for a more detailed look.

The inside of my card has a piece of  paper attached for an additional note to my friend...yes, I still hand write notes and use snail mail ~ pretty much a dying breed, huh?

MFW - TT

Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Trigger is always a fun challenge, but I don't seem to enter as often as I would like.  You still have time to join in...here's this week's photo:

I was totally inspired by the colors and the coffee (of course ;-)
I made a card using some hoarded paper and stickers that I picked up months ago at Target.  I have several more really cute 'coffee' stickers, so maybe you will see a couple more entries before the deadline :-?

MIM #112 and Passion for Papertrey

Hoping to improve each time I try a new technique ~ I made another card to enter into these two challenges:

Make It Monday-Embossed Alpha Die Cuts
See Ashley's video HERE

Passion for Papertrey-Lets Get All Touchy Feely
This challenge is all about using texture on your cards~I used the blingy embossed butterfly, the button and twine and the embossing on the letters
Check it out  HERE

Click on the photo for a closer look

My Card ~

Cardstock:  Base card is Stamper's Select White by PTI; True Black by PTI;  the turquoise panel with the big white daisy is from my local supermarket's add that came in the mail. There are several more piece of this coupon flyer you will see in the near future on my cards  ;-)

The alpha letters are stamped with Writing Background by Hero Arts and then  embossed with black embossing powder from Antiquities
NOTE:  When using a heat gun to dry the embossing powder, use something plastic to hold those letters down ~ I used a metal tweezers and burned my fingers 5 times!  Wouldn't ya think I'd learn after the "H" or "E" ?   :^O    I used some Scotch Clear Glue to mount the letter onto the black panel.

The butterfly is from Beautiful Butterflies Die Set by PTI  which I embossed with the Swiss Dots folder by Cuttlebug

Bling, button and twine from Michael's
