PTI Blog Hop-November 2016

PTI inspiration photo
Here is my card picking up the colors and shine from the inspiration picture.
I wish the colors came out better, they are brighter IRL.
Used my PTI Butterfly Cover Plate die cut twice and left a little lime green shadow under the glittery turquoise c/s. I also cut out the center butterfly so I could add my silver embossed sentiment in the middle of my Polka Dot embossed card base.  The pink glitter down the side is Deco Tape from Michael's

I had to go with a Birthday card for my Granddaughter who turns 14 ~ #what! ~ on December 28th.
We always have separate Christmas and Birthday celebrations for Megan, but there is nothing wrong with a little holiday sparkle, right?

Create Along with PTI-November 2016

"Create Along With Us" challenge at Papertrey Ink allows us to select something one of the amazing Design Team members has created during the November Release that inspired you.  Then we can create our own version of their project...cool, eh?
It's really hard to choose just one card, but Betsy's sweet birthday card is the one I tried to CASE:

Here is my card, using the PTI Birthday Trio and Cake Plates dies~

MIM #267

MAKE IT MONDAY
Assembly Line Card-Making

Laurie is up this week on MIM sharing some tips for whipping up lots of cards for Christmas or any other occasion, assembly line style.  Check her video HERE.

Okay, I have to admit, this is a new-for-me concept.  I tend to re-invent the wheel each time I make a card, which is totally crazy especially after a card is finished and mailed off, I think
"Wow, I shoulda~woulda~coulda made a few of that one!"

I don't have those totally adorable little mice stamps/dies yet, but they are definitely on my Wish List for the next order :o)

Had to go with glittery red Song Birds and different colored green leaves with white berry die cuts. The bird is sitting on a silver glitter tape at the bottom.  I planned on using the wood grain embossing folder on all, but tried a Pine Branch and Swiss Dot EF  on a couple and thought they made a pretty background plus a little bit of a difference on each card~~so, not quite re-inventing the wheel on these ;-)

MIM #266

 MAKE IT MONDAY

That's a Wrap

Lexi Daly is up on MIM this week with a fun idea to design your own wrapping paper with stamps you have in your collection.
You get to decide on colors and images to create beautifully wrapped little packages. Check out her video HERE

I downloaded Lexi's templates to stamp my images in a diagonal fashion, which started out somewhat of an organized design, but ended up kinda random with the three Song Bird stamps :-)
I wrapped the paper around a wood stamp I am giving to my crafty friend as part of her Birthday gift next week then realized you could not see the full paper creation, so unwrapped it and took this picture.  I normally use gift bags and wrap individual gifts inside with different colored tissue paper, but thought this idea was cute. Thank you, Lexi!

LOVE this TimHoltz stamp set "Bird Talk". It has such fun images and dies and even includes an embossing folder (not used here).
I mixed together White acrylic paint and Turquoise blue re-inker then painted it on Watercolor paper as my sky background.
Those sparkly clouds are dies from Paper Smooches.
Sentiment die is from Die'sire
The flower branch is from PTI's Spring Woods stamp/die set.
