MIM #244

MAKE IT MONDAY

Score Lines Challenge

I am joining Laurie on MIM this week as she shows her favorite tips and tricks for adding score lines to our paper crafted projects for some additional detail and texture.  You can see her video HERE.
I love the look scoring adds, but rarely use this technique ~ but that's going to change now that I see how easy it's demonstrated for us.  Thanks for sharing, Laurie! :-)

I scored lines from the top of my card 1/4" apart, leaving space down the bottom where I cut out the smallest butterfly from the beautiful PTI Cover Plate and added my sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by, I always appreciate your comments!

CASology Wk 189-Doodling

I love the Clean And Simple style that so many talented card makers can create.  I, sadly, am not one of you!
I have been stalking the CASology Challenges for some time now but have yet to post any cards that I felt were CAS enough.
Well, that's about to change here and now, friends.
Love this week's Cue Card inspiration word ~ Doodle!

And, yes, I confess to being a doodler in school and later in some darn right boring meetings at work :-o

Check out the DT cards for more amazing inspiration and join in the fun HERE.

My Card ~
This doodley stamp is 'Tropical Lagoon' from Inque Boutique (circa 2008 ?)
I stamped 'thanks' twice for a more sketchy look.  It is Swoosh by PTI

Sponged Stamping

Dawn McVey is up this week on MIM sharing with us how to create gradient ink blending on stamped images with sponging.  See her video and beautiful card HERE

Click on photo for more details
My card~
I remember seeing this card by Dawn on her blog in January and thought I would CASE it using this week's technique.
I sponged some ink colors on Stamper's Select White cardstock before running the Butterfly Cover Plate through my Big Kick. I left the frame intact and cut off the smallest butterfly leaving room for the pretty Birthday sentiment. Sprinkled a few purple sequins around and done.  :-)

NBUS #6

NBUS #6 CHALLENGE

Card #3
I am posting my 3rd card to Darnell's NBUS challenge
sadly, I could post 300 cards and not make a dent in Mt. NBUS   ;-)
Click on photo to see more details
NBUS used ~
Stamps:  tree from 'Owlways Friends' by My Cute Stamps
Paper:     green Polka Dot hills from Hampton Arts paper pak;
turquoise card base from Bleu Ombrage by Recollections
Embellishments:  Bunny; pompom (after Valentine's Day purchase)
The bunny is from a pack of table scatter confetti bought at Walmart after Easter a few years (?) back.  I have 2 packages of these bunnies and large Easter eggs, probably cause they were half price  :-?
I added the pom pom tail, googie eyes and gingham bow from my stash to enhance this little guy's cuteness :-)
PS: The big-picture-plan is to make more of these in different Springtime colors, hopefully in time to mail out this year!

NBUS #6

NBUS #6 CHALLENGE
Card #2

I really really love Darnell's NBUS challenges and I know you all do too by the number of entries she always gets :-)

Well, it is the perfect opportunity to whittle down those mountains of newly (or long-ago) purchased stamps, inks, papers, markers, ribbons, embellishments, etc. etc. etc.   Thank you, Darnell!!
 * Why do I need a challenge to bring out these sadly neglected crafty items to my desk?
 * Why am I in the Craft stores and on line shopping for new schtuff weekly (yeah, it's probably more often than that)?

I might as well ask "What is the meaning of life?"

Click on photo for more details
NBUS used
Stamps: Flamingo from Hampton Art
Markers:  Prima Palette; Spectrum Noir
Die: 'Baroque' by Sissix Makers & Shapers (cut in half)
Paper: Green printed by Recollections
