MIM #269

MAKE IT MONDAY

Embossed + Outlined Backgrounds

Betsy has a simple technique for this week's MIM challenge.  See her video HERE as she demonstrates the embossed images outlined with a marker in a coordinating color to really make the images pop!

I embossed a few masked Peonies on Parade stamps with white and gold embossing powders, then outlined the flowers with Copic  marker 'Ice Ocean' BG72.
I rather like how this card turned out and thinking I will try this technique with different colored card stock for more Christmas cards  :-)

MIM #268

MAKE IT MONDAY
Double Layer tags

Slipping in to join Dawn with this week's MIM, as she shares a peek into her process for making a stack of double-layer gift tags.
I don't have a stack made, but think I just may duplicate this cute one using different patterns and colors for the background tags  ;-)

Of course I had to use some Sparkly foam to die cut my Song Bird to make him more Christmasy and the song banner sentiment from this set is "have yourself a merry little Christmas", so it's a good gift tag, no?
I wish the colors came out as bright as they are IRL, but, it's cloudy outside today and the photo looks like it was taken inside :(

This is a fun winter scene from Stampendous, which I plan to re-created coloring the vintage truck with different Spectrum Noir alcohol markers...will probably change up the Christmas greeting a bit too, but it really makes a nice flat card for mailing~if I don't get crazy and  add more panels/layers!    ;-)
