Layering Patterns Over Images

It is always a treat to see Dawn McVey with her MIM challenges.  I'm joining her this week as she shares a fun way to add interest and the look of texture to card projects. 

She also shares some tips for layering of colors technique on her gorgeous card set in the video HERE.

My Stamps:  Rosie Posie and Biased Stripe is my pattern overlay
Cardstock:  Stamper's Select White and Blush 110# for base-card

I wasn't sure about this technique and how my card would turn out.  Well...truth be told, Dawn's amazing 'works of art' totally intimidate me and at the same time inspire me to branch out and try new things 😳

But, her it is and I really love this card ~ just wish I had done a few at the same time like Dawn instructed in her video!!

 

Create Along With Us - August 2018

I am always motivated and inspired by the many challenges out there, but have to say this is one of my favorites from PTI!  
You can select a card/project that the amazing Design Team has created during the monthly release that has inspired you, and create your own version.  You could use a color scheme, a technique, revisit an older stamp set or ink up a newly purchased one 💓

Need a welcome baby card for a sweet little girl who was born while I was away, not sure I like all the white space 😏 or the color combo (pastels are my comfort zone) on this one, but I really liked the Petite Pattern technique Michelle showed us so here it is.

I am joining this week's Transformation Tuesday challenge with 
Laurie Schmidlin as she takes a card that she actually really loves and did an update for the summer season. You can see her video and both of her beautiful cards HERE.

I love this challenge and I have a few cards I've made that I feel aren't quite as 'amazing' as they were while still in my head
~ so having the opportunity for a do-over is PERFECT for me 😊

The transformed card has the same Rosie Posie stampset (adding 
 to the flower choice) and thank you die instead of the happy birthday, I changed up the color scheme, dies, plus added a few  sequins.  This re-make card appeals to me much more and I have just the friend in mind to receive this card. 😀

Sorry  for the bad lighting, it is 3:00 AM and I just got home from a 6 day trip.  Finished this card before I left but, didn't have time to post it.   :-l 

The die cut bird and stamped leaves are from PTI's Song Birds

The corner die cut from white cardstock under the bird and happy birthday is a thinlet from Tim Holtz 4-piece set

 

Creative With Stamps

Well here we are ~ it is August 1st and more than half of the year is gone.  WOW, time really does fly when you are having fun! 😉
There is one fun thing that happens on the 1st of each new month, Creative With Stamps has a new challenge for you.
For this month's challenge, we are looking for cards with a Father theme image.  Sadly all of the amazing dads in my family are gone, but certainly not forgotten! 

I made this card for my dear friend's son who is just the 
"Best Dad Ever" to her three adorable grandchildren.
