This week, Make It Monday's video is by Melissa Phillips, who makes a pretty Autumn wreath out of die cut and stamped leaves.
Check it out HERE.

I made this card for a dear friend in MA who is always a gracious host and offers me a place to stay whenever I travel to New England.  The Fall foliage is still bright and beautiful so I thought this "Wreath of Leaves" would make an appropriate thank you card.

My trip last week was for my Mom's funeral. It was not totally unexpected, but still a difficult part of life.  I was sad about her passing, but happy she is reunited with Our Lord, my Dad, my brother and all of the family and friends who have gone before her once again.

Make It Monday ~ Textured Stamping

I'm getting in late for Make It Monday's Challenge, but you still have until tomorrow morning to add your card.  Ashley's video shows us a technique of swiping your ink across a solid stamp to create some pattern.

Click on photo for more details

You can see the 'swiped' ink more on the darker Terra Cotta ink than you can on the Pearlescent Orange, but it's there on all four pumpkins.
I fussy cut the two lighter ones and adhered them to the top of the two that are stamped onto the white panel. All of the stems are stamped onto the white card.  There are two colors of the grass that I thought added some depth and the sequins are just sprinkled for a little bit of shine :)

MFW - TT

Moxie Fab World ~ Apache Tears in the Key of Autumn
You can see by the inspiration photo, there are going to be loads of unique interpretations for this challenge HERE

I tried to mimic the design (and a couple of the colors, like burgundy, lavender, yellow ) on my card.  :)
Not sure I succeeded?

My Card ~
I cut strips of a chevron design pp to line them up like the inspiration pic, taped them all together and adhered to card. I stamped on top with "Custom Tags" by Inque (doodle edge circles) stamp in Terra Cotta ink.  The silk flowers have bling in the centers and the maple leaf has a silk twine bow.  All are glued to a  Cuttlebug embossed lavender panel.

MFW - Metal,Wood,Cork

Moxie Fab World ~Handmade Cards Week

I am entering this card in MFW's   Metal, Wood, Cork Challenge, which you can read about it and still have time to post HERE.
Click on photo for more details
The clothes line (Baker's twine) is held on the corners with metal flower brads and the clothes pins attached to the onesies are wood.

My Card ~
The lavender pattern paper from a pack bought at Target,  has glittery polka dots, the "Ornamental" label from Tim Holtz was cut in my Big Kick, then embossed with the "Lattice" folder from Lifestyle Crafts onto Pink Marble cardstock.  The onesies were fussy cut in solid color then again in patterned paper and glued together. The sparkly hearts were punched out of Glitter Paper. The sentiment was typed onto vellum.

MIM-Emboss Resist

I tried another Emboss Resist technique card for
Make It Monday #135  which looks way better in person :-(
It's hard to see the embossed leaves with a straight on photo, so I tilted it slightly to catch the light...there are three of them over the stamped hexagon background.  The blue bottom layer is embossed with Tim Holtz "Collage" A2 folder, the print type is a page torn from a book I use for my cards and the sentiment was stamped across it. The button and paper flower are tied together with gold twine.

MIM #135

This week's challenge on Make It Monday is Emboss Resist.  Check out Heather's video HERE

I love this technique and don't know why I don't think to use it more often

Click on the photo to see more details (inside photo tonight :(

I followed along with Heather by stamping my background on salmon pink cardstock panel with 'Music Score' from Stampendous in Pearlescent Orange Ink. The sentiment was stamped in Terra Cotta ink.
The butterflies were stamped with embossing ink, clear embossing powder was added then heat dried. I used Yellow ink to outline the embossed butterflies.

Make It Monday ~ Repeat + Lift
Nicole Heady is using the repeat and lift technique for this week's challenge.  I wasn't sure I would to able to join in this week, but here I am  with my last minute entry.  It's really a neat way to 'shadow' word dies...I used my butterfly die because I don't have any PTI word dies (yet).  The butterfly was stamped on the white cardstock in Orange and Raspberry then again onto the die cut out. I attached the die to the card image not quite centered to mimic what Nicole did in the video. I also used the same two colors on the sentiment.  The panel die is "Ornamental"  from Tim Holtz and the blingy flower (on a sheet with 11 other blooms)  is from Michael's $1.00 bin!
