MIM #282

Stenciled Watercolor Backgrounds

Betsy is up on MIM this week with what she calls an easy technique for creating pretty watercolor backgrounds using stencils.  Well, I think Betsy can make any thing she does seem effortless and easy, but I am going to give this a try anyway :-)

I finally inked up my new "What The Doodle: Waves" stamp set
and used the "Wood Grain" stencil for the watercolor background, I thought it could pass for water ;-)
The grey base card is embossed with the Anchors embossing folder from Kaiser Craft which I received as a little gifty from a sweet friend. đź’“
Not entirely thrilled with the outcome, but ran out of time this week for posting a card.
Anyone else out there think time is whizzing by waaaay too quickly??

  1. Oh, Helen, you are so clever using woodgrain as water waves. Great birthday card!

  2. So pretty Helen! Your watercolored stenciled background looks fantastic! Love the fun nautical scene that you created!

  3. The woodgrain looks just like water waves! Smart selection to use as your background on this fun looking card.

  4. Yep, think we all need timeturners! Great idea to use the wood grain as water, looks fab. Cara x
