I've tried on many occasion to meet the deadline and for one reason or another, I've just missed it :( Well, I was bound and determined to submit something this week...love the patchwork stocking and quilt from Pottery Barn. Hey, I'm so early, maybe I'll be able to submit another one before Monday :o)

Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #19

Dawn McVey has a beautiful color challenge that I was a little wary of trying ~ but, I thought what the heck and here goes.

Using these colors was really fun and so out of my coloring box. I was totally inspired by the tee shirts Dawn and Nicole were wearing and as soon as I saw the pictures they both posted, I new exactly what the next Raspberry Color Challenge was going to be :o)
I always enjoy looking at how everyone interprets these challenges ~ so many talented ladies out there!

Unfortunately, the lighting in my craft room at night is not good enough. The lavender looks pink, moss green looks like pea soup and the aqua looks grey ~ sorry.
They really are closer in real life.
NOTE: I re-photographed (hmmm, is that a word?) my card in the daylight, like it better-- so I just edited my post.

My Card ~
Stamps: Papertrey Ink's "Fancy Flourishes" and "Fall Elegance "
Card Stock: Light aqua, lavender and moss are from K&Company
Ink: "Chocolate Brown" from Stampabilities
Embellies: Raspberry and Moss flower ribbon from Michael's Spool O'Ribbon, Brown square mini brad from Making Memories

EBTKS- First Challenge

WOW~bet you thought I fell off the face of the earth, huh? Well it's been almost two months since my last blog and these are my .... Oh, wrong venue :o) Actually, I've been on a couple of trips since my last post and will have to add some amazing photos of Alaska, Hawaii and California later.

For tonight I wanted to get in on the first sketch challenge over at Everything But The Kitchen Sink's blog.
It's really hard getting your mojo back after two months, so I was scouting around for some inspiration and really found some good stuff from all of you talented ladies!
THANK YOU, blog friends ~

This is the sketch I am using as my 2009 Thanksgiving Day cards (and probably lots of other occasions), love the ease of mass producing cards like this cause I usually have to reinvent the wheel each and every card I make ughhhh!

My card ~ Stamps: Sentiment from Papertrey Ink's "Fall Elegance", Pumpkin from Michael's dollar bin
Cardstock: Natural Parchment from Xerox, Chocolate Brown and Orange from American Crafts, Yellow w/polka dots from Colorbok
Embellishments: Shimmer flourish chipboard from Making Memories, "Holly" green glitter from Stickles,

PTI WCMD - Challenge #4 Australia

Here is the fourth and final challenge for Nicole Heady's Papertrey Ink. These were all really challenging for me and brought me waaay out of my comfort zone~But, I did it thanks to Nicole AND those fabulous prizes she is offering :O)

The history of the Australian Aborigines to create special cultural highlights in their artwork is quite unique and beautiful.
Challenge 4 - Create a card using one of their signature traits~
#1. Dotted Outlines This is where the images are accented with outlines of small white dots.
or #2. Masking So the second option for this challenge is to do some sort of creative masking.
You can pick one to work with, or both.

As you can see I chose the #1. Dotted Outlines option, just because I have not used that technique and thought it would (again) push me outside of my "coloring box" ;-P

My Card -
The aqua card stock is from Recollections Paper Collection and this card, again, is different for me to not have a bunch of layers.
Stamps are Fancy Flourishes from PTI and the three snowflakes are from Martha By Mail, PSX and Studio G.
Inks are Sapphire from Creative Living and white dots are Martha Stewart Crafts opaque marker pen.
Embellishments are mini jewel brads from American Crafts. Sparkle embossing powder is Hologram from Stamp Cabana.

PTI WCMD - Challenge #3 India

The next PTI Challenge stop is India. This is a country I've never visited but understand (from others who have) it is a land of amazing beauty and tradition. From the food to the dress to the art to the architecture.

Challenge # 3: One thing that is prominent everywhere is jewels, rhinestones & gold. We are to embrace this culture and incorporate rhinestones, sequins & jewels in a fun & artistic way.

OK, well this is probably a tad more bling (no make that BLING!) than I normally use on a card ~~but, I was trying for the bejewled and bedazzled look.
My Card:
Cardstock all from Recollections Paper Collection.
Stamped image is from Inkadinkadoo and inked in Caribbean Sea from Kaleidacolor.
Tools ~ Martha Stewart lace border punch and Cuttlebug's Floral Fantasy is embossed on the purple.
Embellishments ~ Jewels are from K&Company, glitter is Sickles Gold and the silk flower is from my vast collection sitting in a vase on my Craft desk.

PTI WCMD - Challenge #2 Mexico

Here is Papertrey Ink's Challenge #2: Your challenge is to create a project that is inspired by either the colors, designs or even themes that are prominent in the Mexican culture.

Now I wasn't quite sure I would ever use these bright colored tea/coffee cups and pot, stickers and ribbon~but I really loved them when I bought them. Thought they looked like beautiful Mexican pottery and decided they would be one more Christmas card and an entry in Nicole's challenge. Whadda ya think?

My Card: Which you can see in more detail by clicking on the picture in any of my posts :O)

Cups and Pot are stickers from Miss Elizabeth.
Ribbon is printed grosgrain from Holiday Wrappings.
Orange card stock is from DCWV Textured Mat Stack. Pale yellow card base is from Creative Living.
Corner rounder punch is EK Success.

PTI WCMD - Challenge # 1 Japan

WOW! Nicole Heady at Papertrey Ink has a fabulous set of challenges for today. Head on over and check out her beautiful newly designed blog AND the fantastic prizes she is giving away. She always gives out beautiful prizes and this is NO exception!

Challenge #1: Your challenge is to create a project that is inspired by either the colors, the design or the themes that are prominent in the Japanese culture.

My Card ~ I always thing red, black and white for Japanese colors...so, this is what I came up with.
The Stamped image is a Peony flower from Stampendous and outline inked in "Dark Peony" and the leaves are inked in "Olive" from Color Box Chalk Ink. The Red oval (cut out from a stencil) and the solid black papers are from DDCWV Textured Mat Stack. The Pasley/Flowery/Damasky base card is from AC Moore (I think:?)

Raspberry Suite #17

Close up of the bling on each butterfly, pretty lace and the shimmery chipboard ~

HAPPY CARD MAKING DAY to ya! Hope everyone is getting in a lot of crafting today ~ along with the "other" regular Saturday chores :O)

Needed to make a get well card for my friend's daughter who just had surgery and thought this would cheer her up a little bit. I made this an entry to Dawn McVey's Color Challenge. Aren't these fabric colors gorgeous?

Moxie Fab- Gradient is Radiant, Card Patterns #34 , Color Throwdown #61

Hey Blogger Friends, back from another "Space-A-Adventure-Trip". We tried to get to New England but the planes were either going somewhere else, no seats available, or canceled ~ so we stayed in beautiful Norfolk/Virginia Beach areas for the week just touring around and visiting some sights we had not seen before. The weather was gorgeous - coming from hazy, hot and humid Florida--Virginia's 70 and 80 degrees truly felt like paradise to us.

Anywho, this Get Well card for my sister-in-law is including three challenges: Moxie Fab World has another fun challenge this week. You have to create a project with a color gradient. I thought I would give it a go with a technique called "crayon resist" which is new to me but probably not to you all. I first saw the very pretty effect of this on Gina K's Stamp TV and thought it would fit this challenge perfectly. As I was poking around for a "sketch challenge, I came across Card Patterns #34, so that is my card layout. Then I found some great colors to add from Can you Handle This - Color Throwdown #61 I do believe I have all five of these colors on my card~ Olive is in the ribbon and the stickles is sorta olive green; Rose Red is my deepest shade on the dasies, Mustard is deffinitely the color of my butterfly brad, Regal Rose is pretty much the color in the print papers and Chocolate is the brown color ink I used :O)

Card details: Papers - base card stock is Pink Parchment, flower and stripe prints are Creative Imaginations and glossy white under image is from Michaels.
Stamps - the single daisy randomly stamped is from Inkadinkado, the get well soon stamp is unknown.
Embellishments: the centers of the daisy are Lime Green Stickles, the sheer ribbon is from Michaels, the butterfly brad is from Special Moments, and the punch is Fiscar's Rope border punch.
Ink: the pinks under the daisys are (dark to light) Rose Red from SU, Cranberry from Stampabilities and Pink from Stampabilities. The daisy petals were colored with a white crayon from Crayola and inked in Coffee from Archival Ink as was the Get Well Soon stamp. I like the way the patterned paper and the ribbon all have their colors gradiating (is that a word?)
Would love to hear what you think.

Mojo Monday #103

I was checking for a card challenge on the many wonderful BLOGS out there and found Mojo Monday has a great sketch this week. It's also a contest to win Verve Stamps, so there are a gazzillion entries. Thought I would add my card Congratulating friends of mine on becoming Grandparents for the first time.

If you click on my card you can see the details a little better.

Card Supplies: White card stock from Bazzil Basics. Pink/green/white striped and polka dotted paper from my "note card" stash, purchased at Target. The horse is a sticker from "Victoria Elizabeth" Baby Embellishments. The lace is from my vast supply ~ Joann's Fabrics and Crafts. The flowers stuck on with "Mini Glue Dots" are off the Hydrangea bush in the photo. I added the pink bow and pink string around the horsey's neck to make it look like a pull toy :o)

Moxie Fab - Another Challenge

Okay, so I'm addicted to these card challenges ~ do I need an "Intervention"? :)

Moxie Fab World has another fun challenge on the blog post yesterday.
Here's what you need to do:

Create a paper crafted project (card, gift bag, tag, layout, home decor, etc.) that incorporates some kind of household item as its focal point.

I just finished this card for my friend's Birthday, so decided it would make a good entry.

Card Supplies: The card stock is Pink Marble Parchment. This delicate tea cup stamp is an absolute fave of mine from Stampin'Up (1995). I inked it with Whispers 'black' and cut it out to add dimension then used two pop dots from All Night Media to adhere to the front of the card. I traced around the image rims with a gold gel pen and edged the Pansie flower and outer rim designs with a raspberry gel pen and green leaves. The tea bag (inside the cup) has a pale pink ribbon and pretty pink butterfly tag on it which is hanging outside the cup. The top corners are rounded with my EK Success Punch and the lace under the cup is from my (sewing room) stash.

Raspberry Suite #16

Unbelievable! I am just getting this posted under the wire (again :).
Wanted to play with my NEW Papertrey Ink stamp set "Fall Elegance ~ It's soooo gorgeous. And what better use of this set than Dawn's beautiful color challenge #16.
This is definitely my Thanksgiving card ~with several variations of colors and designs.

Hope you all enjoyed your Labor Day Weekend!

Moxie Fab - Stretch Your Style

WOWOW! These Moxie Fab Challenges have been such fun! This one may win Papertrey Ink stamp sets ~ now I ask you, who doesn't want to win these stamps?

My card is pretty simple, but I like the way it turned out. The gorgeous DP is from "7gypsies" 2-sided variety pack~it is so pretty on both sides, I decided to use them both instead of ribbon which was my first thought :) The stamp is PSX "Pine Cone which is inked in "Archival Inks" Coffee, then glittered up with "Stickles" Holly Green and Copper. the Dark green mat under each pine cone is from "DCWV". Used Martha Stewart 's "Lace Birder punch on Bazzill Basics white card stock. Good Luck everyone!

Moxie Fab- Classy and Elegant

I love the simplicity of this Christmas card. I have used it in past years with different color combinations. I like pastels, so there have been many pink, pale blue, violet and pale yellow card stocks or mats done up with this tree image.

The stamp is PSX "Forest Ridge" (yep, I have all my stamps from 10+ years ago :)
Inked in Archival Inks "Library Green", covered half of all the trees with Stickles "Crystal" glitter. The dark green mat is from DCWV Mat Stack and is embossed with Cuttlebug's "Birds and Swirls". The sheer blue ribbon is from Offray.

Moxie Fab- Fun and Cute

Entry number 3 for Moxie Fab World is a "fun and cute" holiday project. I think this was the easiest for me ~ hey, maybe I've found my 'style'
at last :o)

I have a very dear friend who makes the most amazing, beautiful and yummy Christmas cookies every year ~~ I made this card in anticipation for this year's batch (ohhh, hope she's not thinking of discontinuing the "Tradition") It takes so much work and time to make literally hundreds of cookies with 50+ different varieties that she has to start the baking process in October (freezing the basic cookies). She packages them up on decorative trays, tins, boxes and cello wraps ~ some get mailed to family and friends out of state even. I used to perform this same "labor of love" when I lived up North many years ago---one year I counted over 1000 cookies made! But now I just have my favorite 4-6 different Italian cookies (and no where near 1000) that I make and give out to family and friends.

Card Supplies ~ The gingerbread cookie stamp is another oldie from Sugarloaf. I inked all four with "Coffee" from Archival Ink, white/red/green frosting colored with Martha Stewart's opaque markers, the bow tie is "Stickles" Candy Cane glitter. "Thank you for the yummy Christmas cookies" printed with Holly Sprigs font on my computer. Polka dot card stock is from my ACMoore stash and the red grossgrain ribbon is from Michael's.

Would love to hear whatchya think ~

Moxie Fab- Shabby Chic or Vintage

Okay, here's my second card for Moxie Fab World's Christmas card challenges last week. This one is to create a shabby chic or vintage holiday card, gift wrap, ornament, home decor item, or paper crafted gift. While I'm not sure what the heck my "Style" is, I don't think I'm "shabby, chic or vintage" ~ but I always love the femininity of the cards everyone creates with this style. I like the distressing, buttons, lace, fabric, antique patterned papers, ribbons and 'picture post card' look. Not quite certain I captured all or any of that with my entry, but here it is.

My card ~ Stamp is CTMH clear stamp from the set "Ticket For All Seasons" which I inked with Whispers 'Black' and outlined with a gold glitter gel pen then added Stickles 'Crystal' for some sparkle. The gingham ribbon is from Michael's and the antique frame is from 'Miss Elisabeth' Scrapbook Embellishments. I have a collection of buttons from years ago when I sewed all my own clothes, this antiquey looking one has a rose painted on it, it's 'pinned' to the bow with green tipped straight pins from my sewing basket. The corners are rounded with my Marvy punch and the sentiment is printed in "English" font.

Would love to hear what you think :o)

Moxie Fab - Clean and Graphic

Wow, I have been away from my Craft Room for more than 3 weeks and I am suffering Craft Withdrawal Symptoms :-! We were on an amazing trip to Washington and Alaska ~ more on that to follow.

But right now I have to get in on Moxie Fab's fantastic-fabulous-fun-challenges ... yes, I said challenges!!! Cath always has so much inspiration, new trends and new products to share with us on her Blog , but last week she focused on different 'styles' of Christmas crafts, and I plan to give them all a try. However, the dead line is Monday September 7th - NO problem, right ;)

The first card is for the "Clean and Graphic" challenge. Check it out!

We are to create a clean and graphic holiday card, gift wrap, ornament, home decor item, or paper crafted gift. The project must have at least one stamped image on it.

My card details:
Stamp - It's a really old wood stamp, imprinted on the side is "Martha By Mail" (I think that would be Stewart?!). Inked this baby with Brilliance Archival Ink "Moonlight White" and heat embossed it with "Hologram" embossing power-which has some pretty sparkle to it.
Card Stock - White card base (embossed with "Cuttlebug's-Swiss Dot") and dark green textured mat are from AC Moore.
Embellishments - Bling is from "Studio 18", Merry Christmas is an outline sticker from "Anita's Art Stamps" and the natural jute twine is from my stash~I thought it fit well with the "GREEN" feel of the tree image :o)

This was a welcomed change in our hot hot hot weather to think WINTER for a short time ;O)

My Card: Snowman stamp from"Inkadinkado" is inked with Stampabilities "French Blue" on white cardstock from ACMoore and I distressed ink around the edges. All coloring is with Glitter Gel Pens and the snow is highlighted with Stickles "Icicle" glitter. The top half of the base "Aqua Blue" cardstock is embossed with Cuttlebug's "Swiss Dot", the bottom embossing is "Divine Swirl". The red and kraft twine is from Michael's and the glittery star embellishments are from "Dress It Up". Used my rounder punch from "Marvy" and the "let it snow..." was printed on my PC.

CPS Sketch #127 and House Mouse Challenge #49

Hi There! Hope you are having a good weekend and some beautiful summer weather where you are ~
I'd like to share this card I made for two challenges today :=)

Card Positioning Systems has a fun sketch for us this week and they are sponsored by DRS Designs. The deadline is tonight, however. Check out what awesome cards the design team created over there. My other challenge entry this week is for House Mouse. Challenge #49 will run until August 31st cause they are on their summer break so you have plenty of time to get your card posted there.
The challenge this week is "Back To School" and the Design Team has come up with some fun projects there as well.
My Card - House Mouse Stamp "Sunny Side Up was inked with Stampabilities "Chocolate Brown", colored with water color paints, with the sunflower outlined in Glitter Gel Pens and Sticklers "Copper" dots the center. I partially cut around the sunflower petals for some demension and glued onto card with "Pop Dots" from All Night Media. Bling is from Hero Arts. Patterned card stock is from DCWV and yellow base card is from Michael's. Used my rounder corner punch from Marvy.

Thanks for checking out my Blog and, as always, I love hearing what you think.

Cuttlebug Challenge #42 and Raspberrry Suite #13

Wow, this is the last post of the evening for me. I am probably getting in just under the wire (not so unusual for me :o)
This is for two challenges. Dawn McVey has the most fabulous color combos and always put us to the test ~ in a fun way, of course!
The second challenge is from Cuttlebug --it's their final one for the month of July and they have some very inspirational projects and great giveaways ~ you should check them out.
The card challenge is a Gatefold Friendship Card. I had no clue how to create this beautiful card, but had a few ideas and thought I would try it. As luck would have it, Michelle have a wonderful "how to video" which really made the task easy peesy.

My Card: The white base is matted in "Berry" and then the "Moss" flower patterned and glittered paper from "DCWV Citrus Stack" is glued on top. The Butterfly stamp is from "Inque Boutique" clear stamp set. It is inked with SU's "Rose Red" and etched with Stickles "Candy Cane Red" glitter. The "Moss" paper is cut with my Marvy scallop oval punch and adhered to the front with Glue Dots. The red flower is off a silk hydrangea bush from Michael's.
Inside Card: "Berry" and "Moss Green" card stock from DCWV were cut and taped inside. The sentiment was printed on my computer in "Red" ink and the Moss card was embossed with "Birds and Swirls" from Cuttlebug. Rounder corner punch from "EK Success" also used to soften the look.

I think this is a project I will definitely tackle again ~ now that I don't have to "over think it to death" ~ Thanks for the Gatefold Card tutorial, Michelle!

Would love to hear what you think, have a great weekend.

Cuttlebug Challenge Scketch #40

Hey there! Happy Firday to everyone!!!!
This is another Cuttlebug Challenge for the month of July. Hop on over there at http://cuttlebugchallenge.blogspot.com and check out all the neat prizes you can win each challenge. This is number 40 with a little different twist ~ there is a sketch! It actually made my New Baby Boy card easier to design.
My card ~ There are no stamped images here only a cute elephant sticker totally glittered up from Victoria Elizabeth. White base card is embossed with the "Textile" folder as is the grey/white card stock under the ellie. The blue polka dot and striped pattern papers are "Zoophabet 2" by Cathy Heck. The purple button brads are "Making Memories" (I think). The Sweet Boy metal stickers are by "Miss Elizabeth". the blue/purple Hydrangea flower and the baby bottles ribbon are from Michael's.

Cuttlebug Challenge #41

Cuttlebug Challenge #41 was to create a project with 'recycled' items.
Hmmmm, I had a gift bag that I bought with another image on it. I wanted the bag to match the Birthday card I made so... I used a wide flower wallpaper border which was left over from a guest bedroom in another house. Why do I still have this, you ask ~ well, you never know when you are going to need such an item - LOL

I cut out a portion of the flower and glued it onto my card stock. Added "Anita's Outline Sticker" for my Happy Birthday and just rounded the corners...done!

Not sure if I'm too late for this challenge or not, but I'm posting it and hope it will give someone an idea or two :o)

Caardvarks and Truly Scrumptious Challenge #12

Wow! Here I am with another card challenge actually two of 'em! Caardvarks has a "Baby or Wedding" card challenge which is just what I needed to get me going on 2 baby cards I've been procrastinating on. Need a baby girl and a baby boy cards, but I only completed one ~ oh, well maybe I can post the other card before the Challenge is over ;o) The sketch I used is from Truly Scrumptious Challenges, which I just happened upon in a blog hopping spree this afternoon. I'm not sure I got all of this sketch done right, it seemed to take a very long time but anyway, here's my entry.
Card Details: The White card is an embellished note card pack from Michaels. The plaid paper and giraffe sticker is "Victoria Elizabeth" from Target. Pink ribbon also from Target. The hydrangea flowers are off the flower in the background is from Michael's Floral Dept. Sewed on the pink buttons with pink thread and the gold outline stickers "Baby Girl" are from Anita's Art Stamps.
NOTE ~ I altered the original card today cause it just wasn't 'perfect' enough - you know what I'm talkin' bout, don't chya?
Added the lace and the ribbon around the giraffe's neck to make it look more like a pull toy ~ which was my original thought when I sewed the button on....okay, I'm done, this is going in the mail today before I change it anymore!
Have a good night and let me know your thoughts...so I can decide to make the Baby Boy card similar to this or go in another direction all together :o)

Mojo Monday #96 and House Mouse #47 White on White

Two challenges tonight! Mojo Monday and House Mouse White on White.
I liked the idea of the "panels" on Mojo's sketch and will definitely use this again~probably with a patterned paper next time. They have a fun Monday challenge to get your week going. I found the House Mouse Challenge site a couple of weeks ago and this is my first post there. I resisted these little critters for quite a while, but NOW I can't stop buying them~sooooo cute!!

You wouldn't think it was hard to create a white on white card, but for some reason I was wanting to add pink or orchid or green color mat under my stamped image :o) But, didn't do it and I really like the way this Anniversary card came out. What do you think?

Card: I used "Coffee" Archival Ink to stamp my image and water colored the House Mouse stamp called "I Give My Heart"
White card stock is embossed with Cuttlebug folders, "Divine Swirl" on the base card and "Swiss Dots" on the three panels.
Embellishments ~ "Jolee's Boutique" photo corners and "Bridal Elegance" white sheer /satin edges ribbon.
